TONIGHT @ ORMSIDE PROJECTS

GRANDMIXXER

The grime ayatollah. Very little introduction needed: technically, one of the hardest DJs out there — and I'm not talking just within grime. That’s before you even get to the wild selections. You could own every track in his bag and still never sound anything like him, unless you too can rework a grime instrumental into a dub stepper on the fly? As a producer Grandmixxer has finessed one of the most unique sounds to ever have come out of UK electronic music — Detroit-style ambient sci-fi synth meets full-body grime crud.

1) Grandmixxer - WOI VIP
2) Grandmixxer for Travs Presents
3) Grandmixxer for Kiosk Radio (Girl Get Jagged Edge (Walked Out of Heaven dubplate)
4) Grandmixxer - Windrush 2
5) Grandmixxer & Mez @ Ormside Projects
6) Grandmixxer & Novelist @ Ormside Projects
7) Grandmixxer & Mez for Kindred Radio
8) Grandmixxer & Mez for Reprezent Radio

THIS FRIDAY @ ORMSIDE PROJECTS

MC ZKW

A @jijei__ cornerstone, currently split between São Paulo and Marseille, MC ZKW is a final-boss type Brazilian funk MC. His live performance speaks for itself, undeniable presence and easy charisma carry him across automotivo, ritmado and the broader mandelão spectrum – all sounds birthed in his home city of São Paulo. More recently, after some excursions into the EU underground, he joins Onoola on the bouyon wave — notably via a run of standout productions from JIJEI’s @poundshoppe

1) Dj Patrick ZS & MC ZKW - sombrio warzone
2) Dj taliba & MC ZKW & MC Davi CPR - pique de calvagada
3) Poundshop & MC ZKW - sou eu mesmo
4) Dj JDL & MC ZKW - arabe ritmado
5) Dj Pikeno MPC & MC ZKW - agressividade automotiva
6) Dj Colombo & MC ZKW - sem romance
7) DJ RD DA DZ7 & MC ZKW & MC Oliver - AUTOMOTIVO DA TURBULÊNCIA taken in Ormside Projects by @jijei__

THIS FRIDAY @ ORMSIDE PROJECTS

ONOOLA-SAMA

Since 2020 Toronto’s Onoola-sama has released a string of records that deftly touch r&b, alté, trap, jerk and most recently, bouyon — all necessarily loaded with her signature satin vocals and low-lit dance-hall allure. As we enter carnival szn, there’s no one we’d rather have join us to direct the collective bumpa.

1) onoola-sama - storyman
2) onoola-sama - i seen you yesterday at norma
3) onoola-sama + @zinomillyy - round&round
4) onoola-sama + emyboi - bumpa roll live
5) onoola-sama - r8
6) onoola-sama - fujibouyon live by @jijei__

THIS FRIDAY @ ORMSIDE PROJECTS

DARKIO BLACKS

Maybe today's coldest representative of an almost-lost, now-resurgent uk drill era. Darkio’s raps flicker over a new wave of jerked-out drill rollers - a heads-down affair for all the gremlins.

1) darkio blacks - gremlin like moctar
2) darkio blacks & teddy - m1 speaks
3) darkio blacks - no invoice
4) darkio blacks - thank god not me (live)
5) darkio blacks - happy new year
6) on the radar freestyle
7) darkio blacks - payin’ the fee
8) darkio blacks - high ceilings by @jijei__

JIJEI PRESENTS: Bad Bitch Music

Through their hybrid DJ/MC performance, London-based duo Bad Bitch Music (BBM) fuse elements of underground rap, UK electronic music and other afro-diasporic styles in a entirely unexpected way.

This wide-reaching mix of sounds does not come from an unwillingness to be part of a bigger scene. BBM are firmly planted in the tradition of British soundsystem culture and Black British party music. Through their selections and lyrics BBM shape that tradition to the current moment.

Expect to hear a mix of original tracks, edits, classics and undiscovered gems, in which the though-line is big beats and sex-driven lyrics. Come see BBM at our JIJEI secret South London warehouse party tonight!
