Happy pride month to all of my queer and trans siblings, i see you, you are all so powerful and divine. What a privilege it is to be able to celebrate our queerness! It’s been awhile since I’ve shown really any part of me on social media so here i go.

First, i want to ask you a question..what does pride month mean to you personally? I would love to hear your answers in the comments because this year I’m struggling to find my own meaning, despite it being my favorite month every year. I wish i could tell you that this pride month has been filled with bliss like each year, celebrating with friends, lovers, and my queerness, but I’m going to be transparent because that is all i know how to be when I feel so lost on how to post on social media these days. I am struggling.

At the end of May we recorded new music that I feel insanely proud of. It lit a new, yet familiar spark in me. We can’t wait to share it with you! At the start of this month, I faced a few different, scary health issues all kind of at the same time which led to more and more obstacles in my way. This is the first pride month in over 5 years where I feel like I haven’t gotten a chance to celebrate queerness in the ways I usually do at all. What a privilege it is to be able to celebrate our queerness…..As i look back, I am still able to find my own personal moments of celebration with my partners, my friends, and through music. I hold onto those moments close to me when times are really rough.

I feel more afraid than I ever have of expressing myself openly on the internet for all to see. I feel afraid that I am incapable of posting consistently online enough to stay afloat as a band. I can’t lie and promote myself when I am drowning in self doubt, which is why I am making this post. Because all i know is honesty. I feel shame for feeling so much fear as I grow older instead of more confident and resilient, but I’m hoping that by sharing these thoughts maybe someone else will feel less alone in theirs. If you are struggling during such a beautiful month while the sun is shining, know that i see you and hear you.

i loved this tour, i loved every part of it. I love you @mmataband and everything yall do and are and stand for. shoutout to everyone on this tour because it truly was so lovely!!!! Love you @mccooldaniel & @_brandonbolton_ so very much, i’m proud of us and of what we accomplish together. Thank you to any friends for hosting us or supporting us.
