Honored to be crowned Miss South Carolina 2022. 85 years of Miss South Carolina and after three years of competing and four years of hard work I finally did it! The love I feel is overwhelmingly beautiful and I am eternally grateful for everyone who has believed in me. I have big shoes to fill from each one of the women before me. I am so excited to work with the Miss SC board of directors and I am grateful for their time they invest in making each Miss SC the best version of herself. I can’t wait to make y’all proud as your Miss South Carolina and take this state to the Miss America Stage. Thank you, I love you.

Almost two weeks ago I got hit (pretty darn hard) in the back of the leg by an opponent in my soccer game & I will need surgery for the extensive injuries. And No, it’s not because I’m clumsy or too old for soccer. Accidents can happen in contact sports. I’m not here to bash the other gal-but dang this sure is a big one! 🦴😅🩼

As I’ve reflected since the accident, all I can think of is how much I miss my team and my run club families. You don’t know how lucky you are to have the ability to pass a ball or hit the 3.5 mile mark until you can’t. Or honestly the ability to walk, drive, and live freely without pain.

I will have to have surgery in a 6 weeks or so to repair my torn ACL & menicus and it could be a full year before I can return to sports but I’m holding onto hope. I had goals to finish another great soccer season & sign up for a half marathon this year but I will have to be a patient for a while. I am so grateful to EVERYONE who has called, brought food, washed my hair, put on my socks, sent flowers and gifts, prayed for me, and cared about my wellbeing.

In the meantime, I’ll be crutch-ing around before surgery but maybe this time next year, I’ll be back and stronger than ever. If you have any tips or advice for the healing process, please let me know! 🤍 taken in Charleston, South Carolina by @jill_dudley13

The Lovers’ Fountain with my love 🤍 Trevi Fountain, you were truly beautiful to visit!

The Legend: According to Roman tradition, couples who drink together from the small hidden spouts’ basin will remain faithful and in love forever.

Happy 250th Birthday America 🇺🇸 singing the national anthem has always been a great honor and privilege for me. It makes me think of my two grandfathers who served in the Marines and the many other men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

I hope that as a nation we will continue to grow, prosper, and make positive change for the good of America and our neighbors near and far.
I believe in us. United we stand. ❤️🤍💙
