Happy 15th birthday to the caboose of our family. Everyone loves Clay and it’s hard to imagine life before him because he completed us. It makes my heart so happy when all my babies come home to celebrate each other. ❤️🥰 Grace decided she was going to dress like him in all black, white socks, slides, and 1 earbud 🤣 #Captaintoo #mycuprunnethover❤️ #shirtsrequired #lastdriversed by @jill_rodgers

Fall Break started out chill and turned into a whirlwind the second weekend. We went to the beach (not many pictures because I am trying to enjoy the moments), landed at 1:30 on Friday, dumped our suitcases at the house, and made it to Berry just in time to watch our girl pitch amazingly and get a hit! We took her to dinner, stopped by Jaxin’s new place in Cartersville, met Captain, and then enjoyed Athens on Saturday with our big girl and her “betrothed,” as he calls himself. 😂

Grace and I had to document her giving ME the cute black game-day dress. I also never thought I would wear a Dalton High School class ring, but my momma was a proud 1965 alumni. Her class ring and bangle were great game-day accessories. I miss her so much, but she is everywhere, and I love it. 😇❤️🖤❤️ by @jill_rodgers

When mom passed, it was a no brainer for us to have donations (in lieu of flowers) be made to her church. She loved her church so much and was a staple there for nearly 6 decades. The church took the money donated and bought a new pulpit in her honor…..totally humbling but also totally appropriate for mom. Thank you to everyone who donated and thank you to Crown View for being my mom’s 2nd family and loving her through the years. 🙏🏻❤️ taken in Crown View Baptist Church by @jill_rodgers

Today was the day that we moved baby girl to Berry. We have been so busy that it didn’t hit us until today that we are actually leaving her there! I have told everyone that I may have to tranquilize Cory but guess who broke down in ugly tears 1st?? 😭🙋🏼‍♀️ I guess that is my karma but as the dorm got put more and more together, I realized that we were about to leave her….she is just a baby! This is when I had to step back and say that we did our job and now it’s time for her to fly 💙🤍 I know she is bound for great things and I can’t wait to see what the future holds! We love you so much! True full circle moment on the last slide with us moving Grace into her dorm 8 years ago today and now she is getting married. When we went for a much needed beer afterwards. The last song played was Good Ridance by Green Day and I almost lost it again…Jaxin has a cute house in Cartersville he acquired this summer and now our lil ClayBird is the only baby in the nest….but we can’t wait to watch some Berry softball 🥎 💙🤍 #begreat # #babygirl💕 #mybabies❤️❤️❤️❤️ by @jill_rodgers

I have never been so excited to plan a wedding! I started praying when my kids were little for “their person” to come along and we all love Zach! I know my mom is probably dancing the Charleston in heaven because she is so excited for our Gracey Girl ❤️ ❤️ I really wish Zach had thought about having nicer scenery 🫣😬🤣👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏼 by @jill_rodgers

This weekend marks the end of an era.
It’s Addie’s last weekend of travel softball…and Coach Cory’s last weekend as her Coach Dad.
What started in 2015 with White Blaze, followed by two years with Blue Blaze, and then nine incredible years with Georgia Power Rodgers 08 has been so much more than softball. It has been our summers, our weekends, our vacations, our second family, and countless memories we’ll cherish forever. The crazy part? This journey really started even before Addie ever stepped on the field. We were hauling her around to Grace’s 12U tournaments, where she’d sit in the Georgia heat drinking a gallon of milk while watching her big sister play. None of us could have imagined that softball would become such a huge part of her life for the next decade. Watching Cory and Bryan coach side by side all these years as they started this journey together and somehow managed to become even better friends along the way. I’m so thankful Addie got to grow up being coached by two men who cared so deeply—not just about winning games, but about the girls.
There have been lots of tears this weekend…happy tears, thankful tears, and definitely a few “how did we get here so fast?” tears. I want to thank the other families along the way (especially these last 2 seasons) for being 2nd moms and dads to anyone when needed. However, this is not a good bye to them because they are stuck being our friends now 😬
On to Berry College and the next chapter. 🥎❤️ by @jill_rodgers

The dads got the girls back this year after the matching shirts joke last year. The girls’ faces were priceless seeing them walk into The Hangout 🫣🤣🥎 #gaprodgers08❤️ taken in The Hang Out - Gulf Shores by @jill_rodgers

The last time I was in graduate school was in 2007 for my specialist…back when we were saving papers on floppy disks. 🤪 I had absolutely no plans to go back for “just one more degree.” But then Cobb County dangled that irresistible carrot, and here we are…
These past two years have been some of the hardest of my life. The hardest part of this journey was watching my mom’s health decline. I went with my parents to Emory in February to see next steps for the Leukemia. A resident came in and introduced herself and my mom said, “She is about to be a doctor too.” pointing to me. I had to chime in and say “in education.” 🤣She believed in me every step of the way, and although she wasn’t sitting in the room for my dissertation defense, I know she had the best seat in the house. ❤️ I wore her dress and her jewelry today so a part of her could be with me, and I could feel her cheering me on from heaven. Thanks to my family and friends for supporting me and thanks to these amazing ladies pictured for going through this with me ❤️👩🏼‍🎓 #Dr.Rodgers #DoctorJill #DoctorMom 😉 by @jill_rodgers
