West Texas snow day agenda:
❄️ Panic buy groceries like it’s Y2K
🥂 Pop non-alcoholic champagne @societydelarassi because it’s 10am and we’re “hydrating”
🧃 Sip greens + fizz and call it balance
👢 Still wearing boots that have never seen real snow
📸 Act shocked like this doesn’t happen every 3–5 business years

No hangover.
No shame.
Just chlorophyll, bubbles, and main-character energy in a freeze advisory.

Is it wellness?
Is it a coping mechanism?
Is it Arbonne keeping us upright while ERCOT holds its breath?

Yes. All of the above.

There comes a moment when you realize the pace you’ve been keeping was never yours.

The striving, the proving, the constant need to show your worth...

It wasn’t devotion.

It felt like distraction, like my body being tugged in two directions.
Devotion feels different in the body.

It’s slower... steadier... quieter.
It asks you to return home, not to the striving, but to yourself.

To your intuition.

To God and all the powers in the sky.

To the woman you’ve always been underneath the weight of expectations.
This season isn’t about doing more.

It’s about being more - full, content, restored.

I spent all summer exploring this, quietly, by myself, for myself.
I’m ready to let you all in on what I’ve learned in the quiet.
To all of the women, mothers, spiritual beings that feel distracted and a million miles away from true devotion to yourself and a life that feels real and true to you...

47. 🥹

And somehow, I feel more like myself than I ever have.

Not younger. Not older. Just… more me.

I’ve lived enough life now to know that the things I once thought mattered so much really don’t—and the things I probably took for granted are everything.

A husband who has walked through fire with me and kept choosing us.
Kids filling my house with noise and mess and laughter.
A daughter in Heaven who changed every single thing about the way I see this life.
A faith that has been tested, questioned, wrestled with—and somehow grown deeper because of it.

I’ve built things. Lost things. Started over. Changed my mind. Changed directions. Grieved deeply. Loved even deeper.

I’ve learned that peace is worth protecting.
That your gut usually knows.
That you don’t have to explain every decision.
That some seasons are for building and some are for being still.
And that becoming who God created you to be sometimes requires letting go of who everyone else expected you to be.

At 47, I’m less interested in proving anything.

I want slow mornings. Big mountains. Good food around a crowded table. Work that matters. Adventures with my people. A home that feels like an exhale. Deep conversations. Belly laughs. More time outside. And a life my kids remember as really, really good.

Also, apparently I now get genuinely excited about vintage furniture, gardening, supplements, birds showing up at suspiciously meaningful times, and going to bed early… so 47 is looking exactly right. 😂

There are chapters of my story I never would have chosen.

But I really love the woman they made.

Here’s to 47.
To less proving and more living.
Less rushing and more noticing.
Less “someday” and a whole lot more now.

At this point, my Facebook Marketplace algorithm knows me better than most people do. 😂

Another vintage treasure FOUND—and yes, you can absolutely train your algorithm to serve you the good stuff.

My Marketplace rules:
✨ Search for what you love ALL the time—even when you’re not buying.
✨ Save anything that fits your style.
✨ Click on similar listings so Facebook gets the hint.
✨ Search specific words: vintage, antique, solid wood, brass, original, estate, primitive, European… whatever fits YOUR style.
✨ And my favorite: search the badly spelled, poorly photographed listings. 😂 That’s where the treasures are hiding.

Eventually Marketplace stops showing you everyone’s old IKEA furniture and starts understanding the assignment.

Basically, I’ve trained mine to be my own little vintage personal shopper—and she rarely misses. 😂

Fourteen years. 🤍

We had absolutely no idea what we were saying yes to in this photo.

We thought we were saying yes to marriage. To building a home, raising babies and growing old together.

But really, we were saying yes to every version of each other we hadn’t met yet.

Fourteen years have given us babies and loss. Careers and new beginnings. Dreams fulfilled and dreams completely rewritten. We’ve traveled, built businesses, homeschooled our babies, grown our family through adoption, started over more than once and created a life that looks nothing like the one these two pictured.

And we’ve buried a daughter.

We’ve walked through the kind of grief that changes everything—including you. There were seasons when we weren’t the same people who stood here holding hands. Seasons when we were probably more like teammates trying to survive than husband and wife.

But we kept choosing each other.

Again and again.

And maybe that’s what I’m most proud of.

Josh, you knew me before some of the greatest joys of my life. You held me through the worst day of my life. You know the woman I was before Everly, the mother I became because of her, the woman grief made me, and the woman I’m still becoming.

And somehow, fourteen years later, it’s still you.

There is something sacred about looking at another person and realizing, you were there for all of it.

We have lost.
We have gained.
We have broken.
We have rebuilt.
We have laughed until we cried and cried until there was nothing left.

And now we get to dream about what comes next—the mountains, the ranch, raising these babies, growing old together and whatever wild idea we decide to chase next.

I wouldn’t choose all of the things we’ve had to walk through.

But I would choose you to walk through them with.

Every. Single. Time.

Happy 14 years, my love.

Thank you for taking my hand all those years ago.
