over many years of fine arts, i’ve been able to develop the gifts God gave me. i’ve found things i’m good at, and things i’m not. but if there’s one thing i’ve learned over the years, it’s that God gave me these gifts to glorify Him and not myself. when i first started, i thought it was about getting a superior and winning merit (1st place). sure, that’s great, but that mindset glorifies myself. having that mindset left me disappointed most years and wondering why i wasn’t enough. i would compare myself to the people i “competed” against and wonder why i wasn’t as good as them. as time went by, i realized that it isn’t about that. it’s about using the gifts God gave me to glorify Him. this year, i went without expectations. i didn’t expect to win or go to nationals. that didn’t matter. but i did go knowing that i was going to use my gift to glorify God. knowing that God used me and the gifts He gave me to minister to His people is worth more than any merit. i’m beyond grateful for the opportunities i’ve had to present at fine arts. i’ve developed my gifts and grown in so many ways. fine arts has helped shape me into the person i am today. i can’t wait to see how God continues to use my gifts to minister to His people. to God be the glory! 🙌

i’m also thankful for everyone who’s supported me throughout the years. i’m beyond grateful for my family, friends, and the ISM staff who’ve supported me and helped me develop my gifts. you guys mean more to me than you’ll ever know 🫶🏻 by @jillian.smith7

547 days 💌

547 days of calling you mine, loving you, and growing together. Although some days it feels like no time has passed at all, other days I look back to when we first started dating, and it feels like so much more time has gone by. We’ve laughed, cried, danced, and driven more miles than I can count, and those memories show just how far we’ve come. I can’t wait to continue loving you and growing together this year. I wish we could be together to celebrate today, but I guess FaceTime will have to do for now. Even with this distance, there’s still no one I would rather be with than you.

Happy birthday to this handsome guy! I’ve absolutely loved being part of your life this past year, and I can’t wait to be with you for the next. it feels like just yesterday that i went to my first pk retreat. now, five years later, i’m home from my last one. it’s crazy how time flies. i’ve met some of my best friends at these retreats and made memories that will last a lifetime. i’m beyond thankful for the opportunity to attend over these past few years. God has helped me through so much at these events. it’s truly amazing to sit in the presence of God with His people. thank you to everyone who has made each year special. i’m grateful to have been a part of this experience and to belong to the ism family. God is good! 🤍
