On July 8th, 2009, there was a knock on our door. Our next door neighbors had found a tiny kitten on the street not moving, unable to walk after being subject to some sort of brain trauma, but the moment we pet him he could not stop purring. For days we didn’t know if he would survive, let alone walk again. It felt like a miracle when he took his first steps, and we watched him blossom into the most special, loving cat I’ve ever met. He truly was a friend to all. After 16 wonderful years full of love and pets and purrs, we said goodbye to this special man last night. He is already so dearly missed especially by his little brother Pepper who spent all day everyday right by his side. We love you forever Nelson and I know you’re up there watching us and rubbing on Bear again🩷
