hey… long time no chat
my week(s), cause I know you care:
a LOT has happened. been sorta MIA and not all at the same time. on the hunt for a much needed break and reset, but nobody’s got the time for that. so we are bringing back running- check the strava later in the week, pinky promise. let’s get into it:
- our last morning at home, pretty spectacular if you ask me
- who would have thought that a peppakauka would taste so bad? little did I know that would be the last picture I would take on August 19th, hours before.
- night after, August 20th, sunset at Nonie + Pop
- LYLE!
- first and last trick of the summer, we learned quickly that slipped discs are no fun!
- all moved in!

mourning my days spent outside as I go back to East Lansing today 😔☹️😟😣🥹😳😰🫣

literally coming home this weekend, and next weekend and the weekend after and the next two weekends after so I won’t go pale right away! an ode to the cornfield

my township has decided to turn the cornfield in the backyard and those surrounding the tri-lakes into solar fields and a data center. This information does not sit well with me knowing that this will be the end of incredible sunsets, peace and quiet, the bald eagles, the cicadas, the Sandhill cranes and Great Blue Herons, the clean(ish) lake water, the cold springs, the random wildlife that wanders through the field: deer, raccoons, coyotes, turkeys, and one singular time a peacock. The numerous adventures of wandering the fields, hitting and finding golf balls on “the range”, counting the birds, chasing the sunsets. All of it gone and over with in one very avoidable meeting. It absolutely breaks my heart knowing that this is the future, not just for me but for everyone. And it’s horrifying if I am being honest, like look out the window, you can’t see a mile ahead of you. I am enraged, disappointed, disgusted, and numb to the feeling that people are okay with this happening. I can only do so much, be so much, say so much.

to all of the chronic artificial intelligence users out there and especially those reading this: just stop. Not only are you killing our environment with your noise pollution, heavy metal machines and manufacturing, the copious amounts of water that is used, and making everything for uncomfortable for everyone having to deal with it, but most MOST importantly, you are cutting yourself short. You are taking the easy way out, of learning, doing, trying new things. Read a book, talk to a person, make the phone call, look in the dictionary, use a glossary, go to the library, get a face to face tutor- I don’t care, but stop using generative Ai. It isn’t making you smarter, it’s making you far more stupid than anyone could have ever imagined because you’re just cutting yourself short. You have SO much time, the TikTok will be there later, the show isn’t going anywhere- put your head down and do it yourself instead of using generative ai because you can’t take 30 minutes to do your algebra homework, or look in a cookbook for meal prepping or read a book.

happiest of birthdays to my best friend, my confidant, my partner in crime, my biggest opponent and my loudest cheerleader. Whatever would I do without you by my side for the last 18 years, I am so beyond thankful that it got to be you! Nobody else could ever put up with my shenanigans, my meltdowns, my hysteria and of course my blabber mouth.
