Awwwwesome day out on Green Island with @rossxavier ! We saw 21 green sea turtles, heaps of beautiful fish, birds (including some gorgeous herons), and a massive stingray!

Can anybody identify this stingray?
It was bigggg with a long tail. Looked like a Steve Irwin killer 😳

The Great Barrier Reef is absolutely incredible! 🪸 🐢🐠

I remember the first time I saw a hawksbill turtle 🫧
Not realising they were a different (critically endangered) species, I thought their shells were dirty because they hung out on the beach & got bird poo on them 😆

The first time.

And, I fell deeply in love ♡

I feel so lucky to have had so many incredibly beautiful years living right next to these dinosaurs 🦕

They fill my whole body with awe of life on Earth 🌏 all the creatures we share it with... blows my mind.

How can we be so caught up in our own problems, how can politicians and business moguls be so greedy, how can men be so cruel to the Earth and to each other when we once came from the same cells as these?

Sebolon island was stingray & shark paradise!! So beautiful!!
Here's some cute footage from our trip of the very cute but shy bluespotted ribbontail ray (Taeniura lymma). 💙

Bluespotted rays have vivid blue spots to warn predators not to fck with them & their venomous spines.

Somehow nobody really knows how long they live, it's thought to be around 10 years in the wild.

They use electrosensitivity to detect electrical impulses made by other underwater creatures, to catch prey and recognise mates.

Annnd they're adorable 🤗

I sighted 11 of these cuties in the shallows and at about 12m down around Le Pirate Island (Pulau Sebolon) 🏝 As well as an eagle ray!! But didn't manage to film the eagle ray 🥲.

Plus heaps of black tip reef sharks, 1 big white tip 🦈, cuttlefish, seasnakes, eels, massive lobsters, glass shrimp... so many cool things to see there!
