This is the kind of room that makes you linger a little longer.

The soft glow. The layered textures. The dramatic canopy bed. Every detail works together to create a bedroom that feels quietly luxurious from sunrise to the last light of the evening.

Designed by @carlaroyderdesigns and thoughtfully styled by @markpetersonid, this space proves that the best bedrooms don't just look beautiful—they change the pace of the day.

October has a way of making the kitchen feel even more inviting.

A few pumpkins. Warm wood tones. A kitchen island that naturally draws everyone together.

This custom kitchen was designed for everyday living, whether it's a busy weekday morning or a slow fall weekend spent cooking, baking, and catching up with family. The thoughtful balance of texture, light, and function makes it a space you'll want to spend time in long after the meal is over.

Beautifully designed by @carlaroyderdesigns, this kitchen is one of our favorite spaces in this custom home.

Who decided laundry rooms had to be boring?

Not us.

The first thing you'll notice is that bold geometric backsplash. Pair it with deep charcoal cabinetry, a generous work island, built-in lockers, and plenty of storage, and suddenly laundry feels like it belongs in the same conversation as the rest of the home.

The best custom homes pay attention to every room—not just the ones guests see.

Every piece of land has a story. The fun is figuring out how to build with it.

This home sits on a true 360-degree hilltop, but getting here took more than placing a house on top of a ridge.

To create enough room for both the home and driveway, we lowered the hilltop by three feet before construction even began. That gave us the space we needed while preserving what mattered most... the views.

Working alongside architect Gavin Crider, we brought together white limestone, thermally modified pine in both vertical and horizontal applications, and a flat roof designed to support a rainwater catchment system.

Every decision had a purpose. Every detail worked together.

Take a walk through this incredible project with Jim and see how thoughtful planning turns a challenging homesite into something truly one of a kind.

We build more than just houses.

Sometimes we build the place where Saturday morning pickleball tournaments happen.

Where grandkids challenge grandparents to a game of HORSE.

Where neighbors wander over and stay longer than they planned.

A custom home is about more than four walls. It's about creating a place where life gets lived.

Happy Friday! Who's ready to play?

The best details don't compete for attention.

They quietly shape the way a home feels.

The rhythm of the ceiling beams. The warm glow of the pendant lighting. The way each element naturally draws your eye down the hall.

It's thoughtful design that doesn't have to announce itself.

Some design choices make you stop and smile.

This is one of them.

Tucked inside the butler's pantry is a tile floor covered in happy dog faces. It's unexpected, a little playful, and completely personal.

The best custom homes aren't built from a catalog. They're built around the people (and four-legged family members) who live there.

We have a feeling this pantry gets a lot of smiles.

Every home has a spot that quietly becomes your favorite.

Sometimes it's one comfortable chair by a window where the light is just right.

Funny how the places we remember most are often the simplest ones.

Sometimes the best custom home features aren't for the homeowners... they're for the four-legged family members.

This dog door wasn't part of the original plans. Once the homeowners decided they wanted one, we looked at several locations to find the best fit for the home, the layout, and how their dogs would actually use it.

The timing mattered too. We got it installed just before insulation, built the stonework around it, and made it look like it had been part of the design from day one.

That's one of the advantages of building custom. It's not just about following a set of plans—it's about finding solutions when new ideas come along.

Happy homeowners. Happy pups. We'd call that a win.

There's a reason we don't treat outdoor spaces like an afterthought.

Around here, the backyard is where birthdays happen. It's where grandkids cannonball into the pool, friends stay long after dinner, and coffee somehow tastes better on a quiet morning.

A custom home doesn't stop at the back door.

Some spaces don't need to say a word.

A comfortable chair.
Soft lighting.
Rich color.
A quiet corner that's ready whenever you are.

Sometimes, that's all it takes.

Every home has a story.

It begins with the people who design it, build it, and bring it to life. But the best part comes when a family walks through the front door and starts making memories of their own.

This Labor Day, we're thankful for everyone who plays a part in that journey—from our incredible trade partners to the homeowners who trust us with their dream.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Jim Boles Custom Homes.
