A little over a year ago—after a lot of prayer and wise counsel—I started raising funds for a house I hoped to use to disciple young men and practice hospitality. I wasn’t sure if it was what God wanted, so I prayed that He would close the door if it wasn’t good.

Instead, He opened it wider than I expected.

In less than three months, God provided over $50,000. Then came a six‑month search for the right house. I prayed for a long list of specific details, things like:

Four bedrooms

A two‑car garage

Two living spaces

Three bathrooms

A gas‑stove kitchen

A large lot with plenty of street parking

A safe neighborhood with good bones

Trees in the backyard

A location in central Norman, within my price range

And that I’d be near someone from my church or BCM staff

He answered every single one.

We were set to close in July… and then came another opportunity to trust Him: a six‑month delay and an early‑occupancy agreement. Not the timing I expected, but exactly the timing He chose.

And yesterday—the very last day of 2025—I bought a house for the first time.

This season of my life has been difficult. I have felt very melancholy and God has given me many things to trust Him with, hard things I wouldn’t choose for myself.

However, in the difficulty of this season, God has shown Himself faithful to me repeatedly through answered prayer and provision surrounding support raising, my roommates, and the house I live in.

He has answered numerous specific prayers. One of the more recent ones was my roommate Noah, who helped me replace my starter in my car when I had all but given up. I am so thankful for him and my faithful God and Father who is teaching me perseverance through His strength!

May He be glorified!

My sister broke her favorite spatula prying frozen cookie dough out of a bowl. I made her a new one per her request.

I made it completely with hand tools excluding the drill for the hole. The handle is reclaimed oak that spent most of its life as a shipping pallet.
