Holy guacamole! I'm still in wild disbelief of this news, but SO thrilled and incredibly thankful to NewFilmmakers Los Angeles and WarnerMedia OneFifty for their confidence in my vision for my latest project—the BIPOC, female-driven, neo-noir crime thriller, ARGUS—my *second* feature currently in active development!

Extra special thanks to NFMLA's Larry Laboe, Danny De Lillo, Bojana Sandic, and Andrew Acedo for their longstanding support of my work. And to Axel Caballero + his awesome OneFifty team for their generous backing—I truly look forward to your industry insight and guidance.

Congrats also to my talented co-grantees: Rami Kodeih and Nora Mariana Salim, Gabriela Ortega, and Set Hernandez Rongkilyo. May we all give 2022 a run for its damn money!

Hard to believe it’s been a whole year since we eloped in LA! Happy anniversary, Birdie. I love you more each day. Here’s to getting older, weirder, crazier, and hotter with your best friend. 🥂 by @jimvendiola

Beaches, birthdays, barbecues, bokeh.

(Was gifted the Hanalogital roll; I normally don’t shoot with pre-exposed effects films)

New! Matt Brown (@hausofbaba), @jimvendiola, George Ellzey Jr. (@cottagegroveproductions), + Ryan Corrigan Whetsel (@fullspectrumfeatures) speak on Making Your DIY Indie Film In Chicago, a @dynastypodcasts live panel event recorded @cameraambassador!

The filmmakers detail exactly what goes into producing an independent film in Chicago with limited resources, budget, and network.

They also share production stories from their own creative careers, weigh in on the strengths and shortcomings of Chicago’s filmmaking industry, recommend local organizations and events for making film connections in the city, and more. by @jimvendiola

We armed the two toddlers (Bel and her bestie, Sadie) with a 2010 Nikon Coolpix, and the stuff they shot today and yesterday is better than my undergraduate portfolio.
