On April 7th, I wrote with fear and anxiety “I don’t expect you to be my salvation but you may lend me some passion and curiosity to see everything in a different light”.

so here I am, weeks after still not knowing everything but i feel it’s ok. I start to really see things in darkness, silence with bit more ease.

thank you thank you and myself for getting here.

my uncle turned 60 this week on the day of England - Norway match, since last time England won the trophy. he said it’d be great if it turned into a full cycle.

in fact i’m a late comer to the football games in my family who has followed the premium league and England team over the years. my 90yo Grandpa prob knows more about the players than i do. it’s just funny i didn’t watch much games back in China even the football watching kinda runs in the family tradition.

years go by and here i am. watching every single England games and even went out at 3am in the morning to the pub til sunrise.

it’s not just football to me, but a summer, a distraction, a story to write, a hope for the better, a celebration of integrity and resilience when the world seems crumbling apart, a memory on this land where I spent 8/10 of my 20s.

I guess one way or another we all want a dramatic comeback in our life, just like what movies have been telling us, be it relationship, justice, peace and glory.

Yet, the reality is twists may never happen.
