Now on view at KÖNIG TELEGRAPHENAMT: Jingge Dong’s (@jingge_dong) solo exhibition ENRAPTURED!

The exhibition is not only an in-depth analysis of the individual’s inner world but also a dialogue about the delicate balance between the human condition, faith, and science. Through these paintings, viewers are invited into a space that is both empty and yet essential, exploring how human insignificance and spiritual solace find their place in our reality.

The works presented in ENRAPTURED explore the interplay of Eastern and Western cultures, merging Chinese symbols with Western techniques.

Dong’s works invite viewers to contemplate their own sense of self within an interconnected world: His works intentionally unify the visual elements of East and West, provoking reflections and dialogues about the self and cultural belonging.

It is a great honor to announce that my duo exhibition with the artist Serse will open on September 26 at MLZ Art Dep Gallery. I look forward to everyone's presence.

The exhibition Parallel Flows brings into dialogue the research of Italian artist Serse Roma (1952, San Polo di Piave, Italy) and the painterly practice of Jingge Dong (1989, Beijing, China), a Chinese artist working between Venice and China. The exhibition explores the apparent paradox of objective representation through the lens of two distinct cultural traditions.

On the one hand, the Western gaze has historically engaged with conceptual thought, visual precision, and the study of represented matter; on the other, Eastern sensibility responds with an aesthetic expression rooted in the value of emptiness and in a millennia-old harmony between mark and space. For both artists, representing reality does not mean limiting themselves to mechanical reproduction, but rather decoding representation in order to reveal its deeper essence.

The works in the exhibition thus move like parallel flows: two autonomous visual paths that do not overlap, yet run in the same direction. The result is an intimate dialogue that challenges the notion of a universal objectivity, demonstrating how the rendering of things is, in fact, a complex and fascinating cultural construct.

This is the last week to visit ‘Warship in Bloom / Five Sons Ascendant’, the first solo exhibition with the gallery by Chinese artist Jingge Dong (b.1989). The show remains open until Saturday, 18 April.

Opening hours: Wed – Fri, 11am – 6pm, Sat 12–5pm and by appointment.

This exhibition runs alongside ‘Warship in Bloom: Five Sons Ascendant’, Dong’s first solo exhibition in the UK at our gallery in London, on view until 18 April.
