📢MEMORY FOAM Onree Solo Exhibition October 1–26, 2026 | Opening event Oct. 2nd (日本語は䞋にありたす) This October, we’re happy to welcome Onree、an artist and a friend of Jinny Street Gallery、for his solo exhibition, Memory Foam. Onree’s work starts with something very simple: touch. Rather than aiming for perfect forms, he lets his hands and the material guide the process , touching, bending, pressing, pinching, attaching. Each movement leaves a trace. The clay remembers the pressure of the fingers, the unexpected shapes, and the little imperfections. Once fired, those fleeting gestures become permanent. With 35 limited works, Memory Foam will unfold throughout our open-air gallery in Jingumae, becoming part of the streets and everyday scenery around us. We’re especially happy to organize this exhibition with Onree, who has been friend with Jinny for some time now!! 🍟Opening Event — October 2, 19:00🍟 At bar/gallery space NININI-NI (@llllll.ll_tokyo) next to Jinny Street Gallery. ✹Bring a piece of Jinny home | The Jinny Notebook is now available on our store!✹ (日本語は䞋にありたす) What if you could take a little piece of Jinny with you? The Jinny Notebook is the notebook used by the artists of “Notes from Jinny” , made for wandering the streets, noticing the details, and capturing your own thoughts, sketches, and memories. And Jinny is already inside it. The cover features a letterpress map of Jingumae 2-chome, while the first page carries handmade impressions taken directly from the neighborhood. We pressed paper clay against the textures of Jinny , walls, streets, trees, and all those little details that make this place what it is . These impressions became stamps, and every notebook is then stamped by hand, one by one. So no matter where you are, you can carry a little bit of our neighborhood with you. And we’ve kept the price accessible because we want as many Jinny fans as possible, in Japan and around the world, to have a piece of Jinny of their own! Take it out into the streets! Fill it with your own Jinny moments. Or simply keep it close as a reminder of a place you love ( it is also a perfect present for any Japan lover!) Take notes around Jinny. 🎊2025 has been an incredible year for Jinny Street Gallery! (日本語は䞋にありたす) We’ve grown, experimented, connected with inspiring artists, and brought new creative energy to the streets of Shibuya. At the same time, it’s been a year full of challenges, ideas, and a lot of hands-on work—and that’s why we’re opening the door to a new team member. Jinny Street Gallery is a volunteer-run space, driven by passion rather than funding. There is currently no salary, but what we do offer is the opportunity to be part of something meaningful: a project with the potential to spark a new cultural movement and help build a fresh artistic hub in the heart of Tokyo. Jinny is not just a gallery—it’s a platform. Beyond exhibitions, we work on a wide range of projects connected to the Jinny brand. If you have ideas you’ve always wanted to try, Jinny can be a place to experiment, collaborate, and bring them to life. We’re looking for a highly motivated and passionate person, fluent in both Japanese and English, who truly believes in the power of art and community. 🚀From Porto to Jinny, to Mashiko🪚 Last week at the local Matsuri, we invited Onree @onreeeeeee to The People Design Street for a tile-making workshop with our community. As a professional tile maker from Porto, Onree shared their knowledge and love for clay with everyone who stopped by. We had lots of fun getting our hands dirty, experimenting with shapes, and making our own tiles. Kids and adults alike enjoyed the experience! A big thank you to Onree for teaching throughout the day, and to the Mashiko Togei Club for supporting the event. ❀ We’ve now brought all the tiles to Mashiko, and we can’t wait for them to be ready and find their way back to the people who made them. We started the evening at NININI-NI, sharing food, drinks, and conversations before heading out into the streets of Jingumae with Onree to experience the exhibition together. It was a special night, seeing his works in the open-air at Jinny, surrounded by the everyday scenery of the neighborhood, and sharing the moments behind the work with friends, artists, and new faces! ✹ MEMORY FOAM by Onree| SETUP COMPLETE! On till Oct 26th ✹ @onreeeeeee 日本語は䞋にありたす We did it! “Memory Foam” by Onree is now officially out in the streets of Jinny. 🫶 The setup happened under some very Tokyo sept/oct conditions, rain, wind, and a lot of running around the neighborhood. 🌧💚 But we made it. Onree came all the way from Portugal to Tokyo to help us set up his own exhibition with us. We’re so happy to have him here and to finally see his 36 ceramic works become part of the streets around Jinny. Each piece carries the traces of his hands — pressed, pinched, bent, touched, and shaped. And now, they’re sitting throughout Jingumae, becoming part of the everyday scenery of the neighborhood. The rain is over (at least for now! ☀), and “Memory Foam” will be here until October 26th so you have plenty of time to come by, take a walk, and discover Onree’s works for yourself. ✹ A little look into “Notes from Jinny” ✹ (日本語は䞋にありたす) In August this year, 26 artists and creators walked around Jingumae 2-chome, looking a little closer at the streets, corners, objects, memories and small moments that usually pass by unnoticed in our neighborhood. Each of them filled a Jinny notebook with what they saw, felt, remembered and discovered along the way. 📓 Now, those 26 notebooks are out in the streetlight cases of Jinny Street Gallery, turning an everyday walk through the neighborhood into a collection of 26 very different perspectives. 🚀 We are back with the #13 post in our Jinny Doodles series! featuring Ploy aka Wild So Serious @wildsoserious This time around, we’re super happy to introduce Ploy, a friend and illustrator behind Wild So Serious, joining us all the way from Bangkok! Ploy builds this world of quirky characters inspired by her childhood teddy bear, her cat, and all the little moments in everyday life. We’re big fans of her vibrant style, her funny little crew brings a lot of colorful energy that fits our Jinny neighborhood atmosphere! For her Jinny Doodles piece, Ploy looked back on her very first solo trip to Tokyo three years ago. She turned those memories into her own universe, from slurping a random bowl of ramen and spotting Godzilla in Shinjuku, to just aimlessly wandering the streets with nowhere specific to be. We’re so glad to welcome Ploy to the doodle family! Hope we can see you at Jinny next time you are here in town! ——— Jinny Doodles 第13匟は、Ployさん@wildsoseriousずのコラボお゙す 今回は、バンコクから参加しおくれた友人お゙あり、Wild So Seriousのむラストレヌタヌお゙もあるPloyをご玹介したす。 Ployの䜜品は、幌い頃のクマのぬいぐるみや愛猫、そしお日垞の小さな出来事から生たれたナニヌクなキャラクタヌたちが魅力。ポップなスタむルずくすっず笑えるキャラクタヌたちが、私たちのJinnyの街䞊みにぴったりのカラフルな゚ネルギヌを届けおくれおいたす 今回のJinny Doodlesお゙は、3幎前の初めおの東京䞀人旅を振り返っお描いおくれたした。ふらっず食ぞ゙たラヌメン、新宿のゴジラ、行先も決めずに街をぶらぶら歩いたこず  そんな旅の思い出が、圌女らしい鮮やかな䞖界芳お゙衚珟されおいたす。 䞀人旅のささやかな䞀瞬が、こんな颚に玠敵な䞖界に倉わるなんお本圓に最高お゙す。 Ploy、doodleファミリヌぞようこそ taken in Jinny Street Gallery by @jinny.gallery
