“I WANT YOU AROUND” by Snoh Aalegra 🌀

Choreographed and Edited by: Me ✌️
Danced by: @choreohta + @kiendeza 👑
Filmed by: @wilson.nonoy 🎥

The concept behind this video was inspired by the open interpretation of the word “Around” in this song. Whereas one can understand it as longing and internal desire, I expanded upon it to ALSO focus on conceptually circular movements and motifs (tracing “around” the body, visually rotating “around,” etc).

A huge thank you to my friends Kien and Thomas. Life gets understandably busy nowadays, so I very much appreciate them finding time to be a part of my artistic process (it’s been a while for me haha). But yeah, I have and always will be a fan of the way they move so it was an honor to finally get a chance to create with them before they both leave.

And much love to my guy Wilson for being down to film us. Your commitment to hearing out my vision helped breathe life into my ideas 🙏

“GOLDEN HOUR” by JVKE 🌇

DANCED BY:

FILM/PHOTOGRAPHY: @wilson.nonoy
EDITOR: Myself
DIRECTOR: Myself

Thanks for watching! This film project experiments with both concepts of timing and sunlight.

I’ve always been a fan of this song, but I always struggled at trying to choreograph to it (LOL). It was only recently I realized I didn’t have to box myself into just making a combo and being okay with just that.
I feel like I’ve been doing that for so long that creating something like this was super refreshing.

Special thanks to all my homies in this as well! Freestyling was a huge component to this vision & every single person in this video killed it and is an absolute monster in their own right.

I ended up storyboarding this video after reaching out and I sequenced it shot by shot to emulate warmth and the beauty in impermanence.

And I might not have all the resources of a production studio or company, but editing stuff like this has always been something I’ve been trying to dip my toes into for a long time 🎞️

Appreciate y’all for taking the time to see the vision 💛
