The first time I heard “Uptown” by Prince has always stayed imbedded in my mind. Like a “life before, life after” epiphany.

It was early October in Albany NY - dreary cold overcast as usual - and I was driving with my college-radio pal Craig Marks when this came on WRPI…the other college station you could (barely) tune in when you were downtown.

Anyway, this sound and energy so stunned both Craig and I that we literally pulled over as to not lose the signal and to hear who the hell was making this glorious music.

Life was never the same thereafter. by @jisquith

There are some excellent reviews of the new Cameron Winter “Live at Carnegie Hall” album that dropped today. Pitchfork, NME & many others are well worth reading but this one from Ian Grant really blew me away. It’s insightful and lovely…like the concert itself. by @jisquith

the kids are alright. there was something so hopeful about watching this crowd at @geesebandnyc . a generation that spent some of its most formative years isolated, inside and behind screens, now packed into a stadium together. sweaty, screaming, dancing, moshing and completely releasing their minds to rock n roll. everyone just looked so free and genuinely happy to be there. rock n roll continues to survive. the kids are gonna be alright 🤘🏻 #geese #nyc #concert #music by @jisquith
