39. 🎈

For a long time, I thought birthdays were about being surrounded by people, going out to dinner, or popping bottles in the club. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that sometimes the best way to celebrate is to slow down for a moment and really appreciate the road you’ve traveled.

So for my 39th birthday, I decided to jump out of a plane.

I’ve lived on both sides of life.

I’ve walked into a dealership and bought an $80K truck.

I’ve also stood at a bus stop counting change, making sure I had enough money for the ride.

I’ve experienced success. Failure. Money. Struggle. Times when I had plenty of people around me, and times when it felt like nobody was there.

I’ve seen people I called friends and family celebrate with me when life was going good… and disappear when everything went left.

I’ve been through some dark places. I’ve fought battles mentally that most people will never know about. And more than once, I’ve had to rebuild myself.

This is also my first birthday without my dad, the man who helped keep everything together for me. He may not be here physically, but every lesson he gave me is still riding with me.

So today, I didn’t need a big party.

I didn’t need a room full of people.

I needed 13,000 feet.

I needed one moment floating above everything… thinking about the good times, the bad times, the wins, the losses, the people who stayed, the people who left, and the man I had to become through all of it.

I’m proud of myself.

39 is the final year of my 30s.

And while I’m 13,000 feet in the sky today, there’s really only one thing left to say…

Damn.

My only son, my dog, one of my biggest blessings… and definitely the one who stresses me out the most 😂.

I demand a lot from you because I know how gifted you are and what you’re capable of. Becoming your dad also made me become a better man, because I knew I had to lead by example while raising a young man.

2006. Freshman year. The Orange Bowl.

Back then, getting that bald head was mandatory 😂

And when Phil Collins “In the Air Tonight” came on during pregame… you already knew what time it was. Only MEMBERS know what I’m talking about. That song, that stadium, that smoke… it was different.

I really got to live out one of my childhood dreams.

I went from growing up watching the Hurricanes from the stands to putting on that uniform and running out of the smoke in the OB.

That’s something I’ll never take for granted.

Today was everything I hoped it would be and more.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every camper, every parent, every volunteer, every sponsor, every coach, and everyone who played a part in making the first Train With The Canes Youth Football Camp such a huge success.

A few months ago, this was just an idea. Honestly, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for years. I finally decided to stop doubting myself, take a leap of faith, and make it happen. To see it all come together today was a feeling I’ll never forget.

To my University of Miami alumni brothers—thank you. The brotherhood we built during our college days is still just as strong today. Every one of you showed up without hesitation, and that means more than you know. Love you boys.

To the parents, thank you for trusting us with your kids. To the volunteers, thank you for giving your time and energy. And most importantly, to all of the kids—thank you for bringing the energy, the smiles, and the willingness to learn. You are the reason we do this.

Today also reminded me of something important. It’s a blessing to see who truly supports you. To everyone who showed up, shared the event, volunteered, sponsored, encouraged me, or simply believed in the vision—thank you. I don’t take any of it for granted.

This camp wasn’t just about football. It was about giving back, creating memories, building relationships, and inspiring the next generation.

This is only the beginning. Today’s success motivated me even more to continue investing in our youth and make next year’s camp even bigger and better.

Mission Accomplished. 💯

@prince.jjames came into FBU Weekend with one goal: earn the 7th Grade Under Armour All-American Invite.

After three days of competing against some of the best talent in the country, that goal became reality.

We’re incredibly thankful to the FBU staff, coaches, and everyone who made this opportunity possible. We’re grateful for the recognition, but we know this is just another step in the journey.

The work doesn’t stop here. We stay humble, stay hungry, and keep proving that preparation meets opportunity.

Blood doesn’t always make you family—loyalty does.

I got introduced to you over 20 years ago, and you’ve been my brother ever since. No matter the situation, no matter what life threw your way, you never changed on me. You always kept it real.

This situation really got to me. It hurt my heart seeing what happened to my brother yesterday. You’re genuinely one of the good ones. Unfortunately, the same big heart, love, and loyalty you’ve shown to so many people is what ended up getting you jammed up. They say nice guys finish last, and sometimes it really feels that way.

Through some of my darkest days, you were always there for me. You never judged me, never turned your back on me, and never switched up. So it’s only right that during one of your darkest moments, I stand in the paint with you.

Just like you showed up for me, I’m showing up for you. The same love and loyalty you’ve given others, I’m giving right back to you. Whatever this road looks like, I’m putting my seatbelt on and riding it out with you.
