Reflecting on a very special weekend for @tr_i__p and @on wrapping up the On Running Academy camp in St. Moritz.The weekend asked nothing of me, so I gave it everything.I was in service. My work was to hold the space, to let others move through their own fear and old resistance, to step back so they could step forward. They say you cannot guide what you have not met yourself, so I met it too.There is a fear that lives in the body. Some call it tiredness, but it is older than that. It remembers when movement was survival, not joy. I watched it arrive in the room, in others and in me: you could stop, no one would know. This is the practice. You do not argue with the voice. You do not agree with it either.You notice it. You stay.We suffered together, which is its own kind of intimacy. And then the snow opened up and gave us one of the most beautiful trail days possible, as if the mountain had been waiting for us to earn it.We speak of joy as if it should be pleasant. But the joy we found was not. It was the joy of being present in discomfort and not fleeing. The “unjoyful joy” we named it with big smiles in sign of approval. What remained when the wanting went quiet was simply breath, simply presence, simply people doing the oldest work there is.I did not transcend anything. I just held the space, and watched others find themselves inside it, until the weekend was done.Forever proud and grateful.📷: @angeliyojr by @jj_pp_vv

Trail miles, breathwork, and desert silence with @r_willms and @mindfulenduranceprogram.The lesson that landed hardest: effort creates the space for release. And in that space, I finally felt the subtle shift between improving myself and loving myself. I felt the difference between self-improvement and self-love: one pushes you forward, the other pulls you back home. Similar activities with a very different polarity. And growing in community does make a difference. We do it faster, and more honestly, when we see ourselves reflected in others.Grateful for a community where growth is shared, mirrored, reflected... a reminder that we don’t evolve alone.All pics from @matt_banahan by @jj_pp_vv
