Roma è metamorfica

Every time I visit, I keep finding more and more beautiful places – and realise I yet haven’t seen anything, and even a hundred years wouldn’t be enough to completely see all of Rome.

Nearly 3,000 years of history, a place where the ancient and modern continually coexist and evolve. The city changes, but it also changes you.

The other side of Naples

Chaotic, messy, loud, rough Naples. Everyone has seen the chaotic videos from the narrow streets of the historic centre. That chaos does exist, but a lot of it comes from the huge number of tourists. And it’s not all of Naples. Step away from the main streets, and suddenly it’s quiet, just one nonna and you. Naples was nothing like what I had heard or seen on social media.

No one told me how beautiful the Lungomare is in the early morning sun, how beautiful the views are from the hills of Vomero, or the coast of Posillipo, or how walking around Santa Lucia at dusk will take your breath away. I’ll never forget what Vesuvius looks like at sunset, or at night, with all the lights shining beneath it.

Calm, beautiful mornings. Locals swimming in the sea, and running along the coast. And the same happens in the evenings. People swim, walk, laugh and they stop to watch the sunset.

And then there were the people I met. Helpful, friendly and kind, real human beings. A local told me about the mindset Neapolitans have: every day is a gift. Good or bad, you have to enjoy it while you can. And you can feel that in the energy of the city. The appreciation for loved ones, good food, and the simple yet most important things in life.

This is the Naples I experienced. The real Napoli.

15 beautiful places in Naples 💌

The whole city feels like an open-air museum. Walking through the streets, I couldn’t help but stop at every corner, stare, and be amazed by the beauty of it all. The buildings, the palaces, the castles, the churches, the sea, and the views of Vesuvius. Unreal.

It might sound crazy, but Naples is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to.
