this is our new normal! for those of you who are just joining, poppy was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease known as myasthenia gravis. this means poppy has to take medicine every 8 hours for the rest of her life as well as eat in this bailey chair for 30 mins after her food is finished due to her mega-esophagus. the bailey chair helps gravity do the work for poppy’s esophagus to push her food down to her tummy after she eats. this journey has been the hardest month of my life TO DATE. with that being said, i am willing to make sure i give my sweet girl the best life possible. i love you, poppy and i will make sure you get every fighting chance you deserve #operationsavepoppy #belgianmalinois #belgianmalinoisofinstagram #baileychair taken in San Diego, California by @jjamesgarza

🖕🏼auto-immune diseases and myasthenia gravis. poppy is on day 4 back in the ER vet. she is doing better everyday and as of 11am this morning, poppy is completely off of oxygen! they’re going to continue her off oxygen and make sure her respiratory rate stays good being off of it. more than likely we will be able to take her home tomorrow assuming she continues doing good tonight. i may have to take her to the vets in mexico for a few weeks as i cannot face the medical expenses here anymore. the toughest battle we’re facing right now is poppy’s pneumonia. i came home this past thursday around 1pm to give poppy her medicine and i’m so glad i came home early because she was doing very bad. she could barely breathe and was throwing up everywhere. i rushed her to the vet immediately and they took her to the back. i didn’t know if that was the last time i would see poppy. it was very scary and a lot of things were unknown. i will fight for poppy everyday to help get her healthy again. we are working on managing her MG medication and the correct dose. poppy can only walk about 10 feet right now. the MG essentially paralyzes poppy. every muscle in her body to her intestines, legs, and even blinking her eyes. please continue to pray for my baby girl. we will see this through 🥺🙏🏼🫶🏼 taken in Veterinary Specialty Hospital Sorrento Valley by @jjamesgarza
