words cannot express how deep this one means to me, the amount of times i talked myself out of it, the amount of times where i would worry about things and thoughts that are out of my control, the times I heard God and didn’t fall through, but this time it’s real, and it happened. This project AWAKE is way more than choreography, way more than what im known for, it’s a statement.

to create a space where dancers and audience members feel pushed, motivated, and comfortable enough to express how they want to feel through their art form is truly inspiring, how everyone felt like family with each other as we rehearsed for 2 weeks straight, how everyone bonded from being in different sides of the city, the bonds that were made, that’s what matters most to me. we worked super super hard to put this show together. and i appreciate everyone who came out to support, everyone who supported from a far, and more.

@sakinahlestage thank you for raising the bar with your piece, and making sure the purpose of this performance was very very intentional. your yes meant the world to me. wonderful job.

@gbeasyent thank you for filling in the gap(s) when i didn’t feel as motivated or mentally there. your style clashed perfected from where i wanted it to portray.

@simoneavery._ i cannot thank you enough for always being by my side this whole process and making sure i always have my head on straight before i make any decisions. i love you so so much sister your assistance doesn’t go unnoticed.

@buckethatboiii i’ve spent some time with this guy before the show and honestly everyone needs a ryan in their life, i appreciate you for just being so acceptive towards me and to what i have going on and having you in the show elevates and made the standard reach so many more levels. i could really call you my blood relative.

@aubriabattle You and the team were genuinely sooo accepting and reassuring during the whole lightning process and made sure I knew what everything was going to look like instead wildcarding it and SO HAPPY with how everything came out lighting wise i cannot thank you enough, we’re gonna miss you @movinginthespirit taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @jjbookedit_

i take this as seriously as i may show, God continues to deliver me from all types of mortality and fatalities and i cannot be more grateful for that, i believe that everything that goes right or wrong has a purpose and meaning to it, and not to take it to heart. that’s what helps me cope every single day. he will 100% give you your signs that you have been looking for, the catch is, he’s not going to let you have it easy. you have to really think about what your getting yourself into, or pushing yourself away from, the signs can be huge, and faint. it is up to us. i give God my overall and public thanks today, for everything he’s done thus far, and protected me from. 🤍 by @jjbookedit_
