Building a personal brand from zero is fun. Building one for the founder of a billion dollar brand in public, is a different game. building @greglav didn’t start with a perfect plan. it started with a camera, a decision, and reps… Many reps… First lesson: “A personal brand is not content. “Crafted by the Wind” - Ferarri Monza [spec ad] Art - “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form.” It is incredible to have so many creatives come together to produce something that is truly art. Creativity that inspires others is what this industry is all about inspiring and showing off Art. I’ve soon realized the more I hold back posting content I’ve helped make, it deprives others from getting inspired to create themselves. So let’s keep building up every person up around us, which in result impacts the World each day. When @spencerdavisphoto called me to help out on this project I immediately said, “Let’s run it what’s the details?” Such a blessing & honor being apart of this project to help and aid these talented creatives to get these final EPIC shots. Each day we take for granted how important every person is in our lives much less how irreplaceable every person was on this set to create something truly special. Hard work & God’s work… Many people don’t know this but I’ve struggled with depression since I was 9. For me I’ve always thought once I get there in my career or do that big brand deal or shoot that campaign or get that AMG one day. I’ll have finally made it and be satisfied/content. I can tell you right now, it didn’t. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Jesus. I mean truly ask yourself this. Are you in control of your life? Are you the one making your heart beat? Are you the one that wakes yourself up everyday? Are you the one that gives your lungs oxygen when you take one more breath? What if you didn’t get that next breath? What if you didn’t get that next heart beat? That’s what I asked myself. 86,400… That’s the number of seconds we get each day. God leaves it up to you on how you spend them, even though each one is numbered for your life. Spend some right now talking to him. Thats the only way I’ve managed to struggle with my depression because I now & for the last 2yrs give all my struggles, trials & burdens to Him. I’ve realized how important Jesus is in my life in the fact that we all have been blessed in so many different ways. That’s the beauty of storytelling to me is everyone has gone through so many different trials and struggles in their lives yet God still brings us out of them even our lives don’t honor him at all. He still unconditionally, loves us. What truly has changed my life for the better is Repenting (turning 180 degrees) of all the life I used to live just enjoying the desires of the world and started living the life that honors God’s word. Now I can tell you how much hope, joy, love, forgiveness, and straight up unbreakable Confidence I have knowing my life has a purpose and to be Able to tell the Greatest Story there ever was. Jesus dying for us and our sins. DM me if you got any prayer requests or just depression/struggles and want someone to talk to I gotchu I mean we are all in this together right? In the journey of being a creative, there are chapters that have “prove it” moments. Moments where you have an outlandish idea, and your mind fills with doubt about your ability to execute it… but you do it anyways. You lean on the hours you’ve invested into learning and perfecting your craft. This commercial concept from the director (Connor Bates) was to feature a classic Ford muscle car facing a sandstorm in the backroads of Texas. Symbolic of American muscle cars preserving their value and character over their many years. It would prove to be a doozy of a vision with the complexities of filming on narrow, unpredictable dirt roads, along with the fact that the sandstorm elements would have to be generated with CGI in post. NOTE: no AI was used in this commercial. Every shot of the car is proprietary and original (not stock footage). We put our all into this project. Weeks of pre production, a fast paced 1-day shoot, and weeks of laborious editing. Bear in mind, this is a Ford spec ad (no formal endorsement or involvement from Ford), so the team’s effort was based on pure passion to creative something awesome.
