My Daughter took a stand yesterday. She emailed Cornell University and requested to officially withdraw her application for admission. She could have just waited to see if she got accepted and then declined….but that wasn’t the statement she wanted to make. So, she took the steps to remove herself from their consideration. We have two family members who are Cornell grads and they are wonderful humans and we are proud of their legacy, but in light of what’s happened there recently, Cornell no longer fits my daughter’s values and expectations of a school she would spend 4 years and a large financial investment at. I’m beyond proud of her for taking a stand. Whether @cornelluniversity cares about her or not, she feels good about her decision to proactively withdraw her application. She also told them she wants her application fee refunded because she doesn’t want a single cent funding an administration that treated a young female victim in crisis the way that they did. Feel free to refund my credit card, Cornell. by @jjesterdc
