hey y’all, october is about to kick into full gear and i’ve just hit the reset button. it’s been a great time to reflect on what’s been done and also what i’d love to get my hands into moving forward. more creative opportunities and thrilling projects on the horizon, i can feel it! thankful for a few warm leads and so thought i’d put it out there that i’m open for new clients! the wording for the i-wear-many-hats-career i’m striving for is perhaps the most challenging aspect of this journey. coming soon to my website homepage (link in bio) will be more testimonials from those i’ve worked side by side with on various projects. from restaurants to album releases, i’m finding new ways to communicate the vision i have for myself as a CREATIVE PROJECT DIRECTOR. in the meantime, reach out if you think you might be interested in working with me! next will be creating a custom plan for what you need, which we’ll do collaboratively. from there, who knows! cool things happen. cheers y’all! kels x by @jkelseysimmons

Yes, this is a post about @starflakemusic and their debut album dropping on September 1st. The work behind this release exceeded my expectations because it’s given me an opportunity to act as a sort of creative assistant: a publicist, marketer, and general behind the scenes personnel. These guys write super impressive music. Beyond that I just love the friendships we’ve fostered over the many years I’ve known them, particularly Jackie - now I feel close to the whole band and project. So it’s hard to put into words. I’m using this post as promo for the album and also to finally share a bit of what I’m working on. The idea is to use all my creative gifts eventually. I’ve been lucky to secure some experience this past year through PR & Marketing. Though my idea for my freelance work extends even beyond that. To fully rely on creativity as my career. Lean into the “Creative Director” role that can mean so many things as it has with Starflake. Music and art have always been my first loves - but really my hopes are to get my hands in a variety of projects: art, music, food, bev and any other kind of independently-led brand that has the “it” factor I can feel in my bones. I’m learning A LOT all the time! Genuinely soooo thankful for groups like Starflake who are willing to collaborate and create from nothing and turn it into something extraordinary. I didn’t write or perform any music, but they let me be part of pretty much everything else! So lucky! 🐬 Here’s to working with more incredible people, sharing more interesting stories, and getting lit up by the work I get to do sometimes now, and hopefully all the time in the future! Maybe even becoming the artist myself one day 😍🦋🤍 Now do us a favor and listen to the album! Dance, laugh, and revel in their originality. Lots of love, Kels by @jkelseysimmons
