art speaks to and from the places within us without words….

Music playing in this video is live from the stairwell behind me!! Read below… Tonight my heart is bursting. We arrived at Plaza de Espana and the temperature was lower than expected. Musicians played flamenco music while a man danced. My kids and I strolled through the gardens talking and joking around. After our time in the gardens we strolled through the plaza as a violinist played in a stairwell. The acoustics were beautiful! The sun reflected gold tones all around. People lingered in the plaza enjoying time together. It was one of those evenings that causes a sense that the whole universe has collaborated to create a moment of perfection~ #life #love #livelaughlove #enjoy #enjoylife #lifeisgood #lifeisbeautiful #art #spain #spain🇪🇸 #spanish #seville #travel #artist #artistsoninstagram #artgallery #womenartists #blockprint #blockprinting #blockprintpress #linocutcoven #linocut #linocutprint #linocutprint #doitfortheprocess #knit #knitting #knitter #hygge #hyggehome #strikking by @jkericksen

I’ve been feeling far from myself this quarter. I’m in a masters program for counseling licensure. Last quarter was a deep dive into grief, and this term is all of the heady stuff - research, diagnosis, and ethics. I came across this quote today and it reminded me of how too often we turn our focus to what’s ‘out there’ —percentages, and politics — which can act as a distraction from experiencing and feeling what’s going on inside. Life is overflowing with heady distractions. Remember to take time to meet yourself — this is how we transform the world. #growth #mindfulness #dothework #inspiration #motivation #artist #psychologist by @jkericksen
Love is not a feeling, yet floods us with all feelings. Love is not chemistry, yet creates a chemistry of its own. Love is not forced, but contains a force that moves us beyond our limitations. In being held within and through the vulnerability of revealing our darkness, we know love. @aaronmcgv1 #loveyou #love #artist #blockprinting #linocut #lovequote #loveyourself #belove by @jkericksen

Some times there is just nothing left to say. We find ourselves sitting soberly in the whole of our experiences and only this moment…all at once. Plot twists. Things we never imagined. Come together, then fade within surrender. Feeling the impact of life while holding the burning ember of peace that letting go provides. Realizing that while we are the creators of our lives, we are also at the mercy of a greater story. I hope this finds you in the peace of surrender and this moment….all at once. Grace and gratitude~ #surrender #life #art #artist #motivation #inspiration #growth #blockprinting #linocut by @jkericksen
Breathing in the amazing…such a sweet day of paper making and connecting with this beautiful girl. Life has many twists and turns, some of which we may never understand. It is in release of what we thought life was and the embrace of what is that we are able to breathe in the amazing. #art #artist #blockprinting #blockprint #linocut #linocutcoven #handmadewithlove #doitfortheprocess #love @aaronmcgv1 @mollyrosestebbins by @jkericksen
Loved every minute with these guys~ Wishing for more sun. More lake time. More mountain time. Summer seems to have vanished into fallish days overnight…. @denver.turner @darren202312 @athinredline @angelo_sarti_ @luciano_dot_sarti ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ by @jkericksen
Today we hiked Mt Ellinor, 1.5 mile hike with a 2,500 ft elevation gain. I pulled a rookie move and didn’t eat properly before we left. I’m usually prepared with plenty of snacks and water, but today I thought, “1.5 miles, no big deal!”. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Beginning the sharp incline having only eaten 1/2 cup of granola with about 1/2 cup of berries + a few tablespoons of yogurt 3hrs prior was an epic mistake on my part. I bonked (dizziness, weak limbs) and had to stop just short of the peak. The good news is that the peak was socked in and the best views were from my stopping point. In the end I learned my lesson…always fuel before you leave and never underestimate a “short” hike. Despite my fueling misstep being back in the mountains was grounding and healing to every layer of my soul. I hope to come back to this gorgeous peak prepared and fueled up for her sharp incline. So beautiful to share this time with my sweet boys @luciano_dot_sarti @angelo_sarti_ and extended “family” @denver.turner @athinredline @darren202312 #getoutside #hike #art #artist #blockprinting #linocut #doitfortheprocess #naturelovers by @jkericksen
Often just when we think life is moving into a beautiful flow the universe pulls the rug out. I wish I had deeper insight into how to move through the spaces where we feel like “Humpty-Dumpty”, picking up the pieces of our soul…only after a ‘great fall’ the pieces no longer fit. This turns the task of putting ourselves back together into a complete reconstruction of self. To this, all I have to offer is - lean in all the way, be gentle with yourself, be patient with your process, and be intentional. The universe breaks us apart so we can let go of our inner barriers. I continue to remind myself that rebuilding can feel like an insurmountable task, but it is also a gorgeous opportunity for creation…slowly with intention. I say this to you, and as a reminder to me. Believe in the process. Believe in yourself~ #art #artist #believeinyourself #selfdiscovery #selfdevelopment #motivation #inspiration #blockprinting #linocut #doitfortheprocess #growth by @jkericksen
wishing the sun would last forever… long days, moving from hot sand to salty cold waters, warm breezes across bare skin whisper to my soul, stirring, soothing, healing, release and synthesis held by her warmth… #art #artist #blockprinting #linocutprint #linocut #selfcare #summer by @jkericksen
