Our visit to Quito, Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands is underway and they don’t let you rest for a second; up early today to go snorkeling and if I make it back alive, will hopefully have some cool pics to share. Hard to take pics when you’re trying to stay afloat! #hxexpeditions #galapagos🐢 #scotch #suntan #stinkathashtags by @jlaben17

We’ve enjoyed an action-packed couple of weeks as “event season” has kicked off in the Low Country, so the J Lagen Retirement Tour trudges on!

Had an absolute blast at HHI WingFest, where I got to judge the festivities repping SAV/HHI International Airport, followed up by the HHI Food & Wine Fest, where I changed it up and drank Bourbon this year at both the Friday Night and Saturday events for the first time in 20+ WineFest visits…Spent a Saturday staggering around TPC in Ponte Vedra at the Players Championship, and we welcomed Rocco the greyhound back a second time for a 4-day visit. Got to see a lot of friends, colleagues and former clients. Next on the agenda? RBC Heritage is right around the corner. Enjoy this shitshow of mediocre photos! by @jlaben17

Such a great time in Columbia, SC last night at The Senate, seeing one of my favorites, X, for what was likely the last time ever. Saw my first X show 44 years ago at Scorgie’s and this was show number 6 for me, with the same lineup as the first show. Happy Hour at Ruth’s Chris got us warmed up and we had a blast. Lala set a land speed record, getting us home this morning in 2 hours flat. Wonder what our next show will be? #thesenatecolumbia #thesenate #xthebandofficial #xtheband #johndoe #exenecervenka #billyzoom #djbonebrake #ruthschriscolumbia taken in The Senate Columbia by @jlaben17

If you’re looking for something to do on a random Sunday in August, join us on August 18 at Abilene Bar & Lounge for the Return of the Cliches. It’s been 41 years between gigs so we might be a little rusty but it shouldn’t be boring. Advance tix on sale at the Abilene website. #thecliches #abilenebarandlounge #punkrockmusic #rochesterny by @jlaben17

Pretty busy week for J Laben; started with a steak Sangwich at the Bluffton Food Truck deal at Buckwalter…a couple of rounds of golf with my favorite boys at Wexford, and finished up seeing Cracker - they were tremendous and we had the front row- with my Sweetie in Savannah. Need to save up some energy as October looks to be pretty busy, too. #kingdomcup #steaksangwich #crackerband #Cracker #coachscorner #buffalotrace #wexford taken in Coach's Corner by @jlaben17

Random 72 hours in Charleston with way too much food and beverage to see the Hoodoo Gurus, in from Australia, with best friends from Rochester. I may have to work an extra year as a result of this road trip but it’s worth it. 39 years between the last time we saw them . #musicfarm #prohibitioncharleston #hoodoogurus #emelinecharleston taken in Music Farm by @jlaben17

Day one of what will hopefully be a great week in the mountains of NC with the Pritchard’s…and a side trip to Asheville to finish it off. The house we are staying in is gorgeous. #highlandsnc #bourbon #scotch #ashevillenc #travelseason taken in Highlands, North Carolina by @jlaben17
