Most people think Rihanna’s brand was built through music.

It wasn’t.

Music was simply the first expression of something deeper.

The reason Rihanna can move between music, fashion, beauty, lingerie, and business without losing credibility is because every venture is built on the same foundation:

A consistent identity.

The strongest personal brands aren’t remembered for what they sell.

They’re remembered for the feeling they create.

Rihanna’s Brand DNA is a combination of The Rebel and The Ruler.

She challenges expectations while setting the standard.

Different products.

Same energy.

That’s why she remains culturally relevant even when she’s not releasing music.

The product changes.

The archetype doesn’t.

If you’re a founder, creative entrepreneur, or service provider, this is the real game:

Stop trying to build content.

Start building a world people want to belong to.

The most valuable media channel your company has might be sitting in the founder’s chair.

A company page can tell me what you sell.

A founder can tell me why it matters.

That distinction is becoming increasingly important.

Because when founders share what they’re learning, seeing, building, questioning, and betting on, people aren’t just consuming content.

They’re getting a reason to care about the person behind the company.

And that attention compounds.

You become the context for the product.
The story behind the brand.
The perspective people come back for.

You don’t need to become an influencer.

You need to become interesting.

Your ideas.
Your taste.
Your point of view.
Your decisions.
Your vision.

That’s what turns a founder’s personal brand into a distribution engine.

If you’re building a company, this is something I think you should be paying attention to.

Most people think mindset is about motivation.

I don’t.

I think mindset is about interpretation.

Two people can experience the exact same setback and walk away with completely different futures.

One sees rejection.

The other sees information.

One sees failure.

The other sees feedback.

One sees a dead end.

The other sees a design problem waiting to be solved.

This is why I’ve become obsessed with perception.

Not just how we perceive ourselves.

But how we perceive events.

Because the meaning you assign to an experience determines what you do next.

And what you do next determines the opportunities available to you.

Creative people aren’t immune to problems.

They’re often just better at finding possibility inside them.

The client that said no.

The post that underperformed.

The launch that fell flat.

The partnership that never happened.

Each one contains data.

Each one contains direction.

Each one contains a lesson most people miss because they’re too busy asking, “Why me?”

The question that changes everything is:

“What can I do with this?”

That’s where resourcefulness begins.

And resourcefulness is one of the most valuable forms of creativity.

Being recognizable isn’t about posting more.
It’s about giving people something to remember you by.

Your audience isn’t a demographic.
It’s a character.

The strongest brands don’t ask:

“Who do we sell to?”

They ask:

“Who lives in this world?”

Because people don’t join brands that describe them.
They join identities that inspire them.

Your interests aren’t the problem.

The problem is thinking they need to make sense separately.

The most recognizable people aren’t known for one interest.

They’re known for a perspective.

A way of seeing.

A pattern they return to again and again.

Find the thread connecting your obsessions.

That’s where your brand lives.

What are your interests?

Most people think opportunities come from talent.

I think they come from association.

The founder who gets recommended.

The creator who gets invited into the room.

The artist who lands the collaboration.

From the outside, it looks random.

Usually, it isn’t.

People already know what to do with them.

They know their taste.

Their point of view.

Their strengths.

Their world.

That’s the hidden power of a personal brand.

Not just attention.

Association.

Because every post teaches people what to associate with you.

And eventually, when the right opportunity appears, they don’t search.

They think of you.

Most people think becoming recognizable means becoming more polished.

Better camera.
Better branding.
Better content.

But Matty Matheson built a magnetic personal brand by leaning into the very things most people try to hide.

The loudness.
The chaos.
The imperfections.
The obsessions.

What makes him memorable isn’t that he’s trying to appeal to everyone.

It’s that he’s unmistakably himself.

The lesson:

The parts of yourself you’re most tempted to edit out might be the exact things people remember.

Recognition isn’t built through perfection.

It’s built through distinction.

Comment “MATTY” and I’ll send you a link to my newsletter, Creative Alchemy Lab, where we explore ideas like this and break down the psychology behind recognizable brands.

Most people think personal branding is about polishing yourself into perfection.

Matty Matheson built a cultural phenomenon by doing the opposite.

His brand isn’t memorable because he’s loud.

It’s memorable because he’s believable.

When you watch Matty, there’s no gap between the person and the brand.

The humor.
The chaos.
The passion.
The imperfections.

It all feels real.

That’s why his Brand DNA is such a powerful combination:

âšȘ Everyman → relatable, approachable, familiar

🎹 Creator → expressive, original, imaginative

Together, they create trust.

Because people don’t just see what he’s built.

They see themselves in the possibility of building something too.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when building a personal brand is sanding down every rough edge in pursuit of looking “professional.”

But often, the things you’re trying to hide are the exact things that make you recognizable.

Matty didn’t become influential by becoming someone else.

He became influential by becoming more himself.

What’s one word you’d use to describe Matty Matheson’s brand?

Most creators don’t need more content advice.

They need better taste.

The internet is full of people using the same hooks, trends, and formats.

The creators you remember have something else:

A distinct perspective.

A recognizable style.

A world that feels like theirs.

The goal isn’t to make content that looks like everyone else’s.

It’s to make content that could only have come from you.

Most talented people don’t have a talent problem.

They have a recognition problem.

We were taught that if our work was good enough, people would eventually notice.

But the internet doesn’t reward the most talented person.

It rewards the most memorable one.

That’s why some people seem to attract opportunities over and over again.

It’s not always because they’re better.

It’s because they’re recognizable.

You know what they stand for.
You know how they think.
You know what kind of work they’ll create.
You know their story.

They’ve built an identity people can remember.

This is why I’m obsessed with personal brands.

Not because I think everyone needs a logo, a photoshoot, or a perfectly curated feed.

Because in a world full of noise, recognition creates leverage.

And leverage creates opportunities.

The question isn’t:

“Am I good enough?”

It’s:

“Am I recognizable enough?”

What if I told you I’ve been wanting to create content since I was 16 years old? I would always talk about making YouTube videos and somehow I could never get it going.

I told myself so many stores that held me back: I don’t have enough money, I need to lose some weight, I don’t know what to talk about, I need a better camera, etc.

It wasn’t until I started learning about the power of my subconscious mind. I realized I create this paradigm that hindered my growth. That prevented that special light inside of me shining bright.

I’ve done the work. I’ve healed my nervous system. I’ve rewired my subconscious. I am finally who I always knew I was inside.

I want to encourage and inspire you to change that story you’ve been telling yourself. Start to do the inner work so you can live the beautiful life you desire.

I have a free book to help you. Filled with all the stories, practical steps, and information that helped me get to this point.
