6 rounds of chemo done and dusted! this has been the hardest battle of my life, and being able to ring that bell meant so much to me.

i can’t thank everyone enough for all the love and support that got me through this. from donating to and sharing my gofundme, to sending encouraging messages and care packages, every little reminder that i’m not alone has meant more than i can say. and to my family and besties who have been by my side through all of it, i love you all so much. i’m so lucky to be surrounded by so much love.

i still have 3 rounds of radiation left to conquer but i know i got this. cuz cancer picked the wrong bitch. #chemobaddie #cancerslayer by @jlat23

today is round 1 of chemo. this journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions, some days i feel strong af and other days scared af. but i know who i am and i know my strength. i am the preacher’s daughter and can win any fight i’m in and demolish my opponent. just like how holly holm’s, the preacher’s daughter, knocked out ronda rousey in a huge upset. preacher daughters aren’t ones to mess with. 💪🏾🔥🥊 by @jlat23

just wanted to do a life update 💜

in january, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and a month later i was diagnosed with uterine cancer.

about 2 weeks ago, i had surgery to remove my uterus and both ovaries. going into surgery, every scan showed my right ovary looked completely healthy. my doctor even suggested trying hormone treatment instead of a hysterectomy. but my intuition kept telling me to get the hysterectomy, let them open you up, and get everything out. thank god i listened! they found cancer in both ovaries too, which is something that can be very hard to catch before it’s too late.

i still have 4 more weeks of recovery left, and i’ll be starting chemo soon to make sure they got rid of all the cancer.

this has all been scary, overwhelming, and stressful, but there has also been so much good through it all. my family and friends have shown up for me in the biggest ways, and i truly feel like God has had my back through all of this.

i’m sad to be resting during the season where i’m usually training and racing, but right now this is my season to heal, rest, and come back even stronger.

one dumb thing cancer decided to do was come for me cuz sweetie i’m not the one. if you wanna fight, we can fight and you’re gonna fucking lose. by @jlat23

tonight was another great time at the library! me and my parents got to see stacey abrams speak and got a signed copy of her new book. she was so smart, funny and flawless with everything she had to say. we then got to see her speak at the john lewis good trouble lives on rally happening across the street. such a great time w/ my besties 💖✊🏾 taken in Wilmington Public Library by @jlat23

happy global running day! i feel like i can finally and confidently say that i am a runner. i may not be the fastest or the fittest runner out there but i am consistent, resilient and never scared of a hard challenge. running has helped me so much in life and i honestly love it so much. i’ve had a goal ever since i was little to run a marathon. i was tired of saying one day and made that day official by signing up for the rocky half marathon in philly this november. i’m nervous but i know my physical and mental strength will get my ass to that finish line 😊💪🏾🔥 by @jlat23
