Porcelain Crane Update 👀 🪶

Very blessed to collaborate with @catchingmangoesdance to fundraise with “paper” cranes and for the opportunity to work with such talented artists!

It’s been fun to step away from the potters wheel and to do more hand building, I’m proud of how these guys are turning out 🙂‍↕️

A little behind-the-scenes magic. ✨

Our wonderful board member, Jean Maddox, is an incredibly talented ceramicist who has generously donated her time, creativity, and craftsmanship to create some special pieces in support of Catching Mangoes Dance’s fundraising efforts.

We’re so excited to share the finished collection with you. Stay tuned for the final reveal! 👀🧡 taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @jmaddstudios

I’m a bit directionless right now, and I’m remembering that that’s okay. - being lost is all part of the process 🙂‍↕️

Making these little turtles has been extremely fun 🤗
Playing around with Sgraffito to mimic cobalt (that’s the intent anyway)
I think I’m gonna name them 🐢 🍼

Nothing fancy. Just a cup. Mug. Vessel. Container. I liked it and my camera was on sooooo 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been prepping a little ceramics series for
AAPI Heritage Month, starting with classic forms from across Asia-like this Japanese
Kyusu, a side-handle teapot that’s as fun to throw as it is to spill (literally dropped the whole thing, so part 2’s coming).
Two weeks out, but I wanted to start warming up-soooooo stay tuned as I dive deeper into the stories behind the shapes 👋🙂
