Been working on my #MAPACA conference presentation. I kinda sorta didn’t know what I was going to say, but I knew where I wanted to end up. 61 slides later I’ve circled back to my point. This is going to be a fun one. I really have nothing to lose, nothing on the line, nothing I stand to gain. I’m really just doing it for the love of the game. taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @jmichaelneal

I did it. I pulled it off. Little bit of luck, little bit of perseverance, little bit of stubbornness, little bit of insanity, and a lot of support from friends and family. A year ago I had no idea how I was going to make this work. But I fucking did it! Today I walk away from @mcccpa a whole Licensed Massage Therapist. 4.0. Perfect attendance. I want to thank everyone, and give a shoutout to my teachers and classmates. Time to do some healing! #massagetherapists #graduation taken in Montgomery County Community College by @jmichaelneal

I sit here in my car. Sweaty. Exhausted. Not a penny to my name. But, as of 4:10pm today, with a passing score on the #MBLEx. It was harder than I could have ever anticipated, and the journey this year has been one of the most challenging of my life. August in particular was a trial on all fronts. But I did it. In 10 days I’ll be a graduate of @mcccpa’s massage therapy program. Not long after that, my #massagetherapy license will be in my hands. I did it. Now I’m going to go home and cry. Thank you to everyone who supported me mentally, spiritually, and financially. taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @jmichaelneal

Well, looks like a decade after my first presentation at the Mid-Atlantic Popular & American Culture Association Conference I’ll be returning to #MAPACA this November to speak on Artificial Intelligence. Looks like as soon as I’m done with the #MBLEX it’s power point time lol #ai #art #conference by @jmichaelneal

Assisted #stretching is an under appreciated method of relieving muscle pain, correcting postural deviations, and extending range of motion. Reciprocal inhibition triggers a neurological reflex that relaxes the target muscle by contracting its antagonist, resulting in a deeper stretch with significantly less tension. It also triggers neuromuscular reeducation so the brain can integrate new pain-free movement patterns. #massage taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @jmichaelneal

July was brutal 🫨. Still recovering physically from pushing myself beyond the point of exhaustion, but I’ve done a good job of pacing myself since. Had a #business plan assignment give me the reason to sit down and turn my notes and ideas into a real, working document and visual language. A year’s worth of planning and 7 days of nonstop work birthed The Book of Stewardship - the coolest f’n business document imaginable and probably the coolest art piece I’ve ever made. You can find it at my website, which I put together with the time I had left. All this while studying for a battery of tests (including a cumulative #muscle final) and prepping for the #MBLEX.

I’d like to introduce the newest member of my referral network - Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist @sharlay.the.barbarian! While Massage Therapy can ease the pain and discomfort of muscle issues, I want to do more than just offer people bandages. By working with a CPT like Sharlay, clients who want to get to the root of the problem have a specialist I trust. She comes highly recommended by one of my favorite people in the world and I’m excited to name her among my Diagnostic Network. taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @jmichaelneal

One of my favorite things about running my own business, with no one above, beside, or below me, is I get to do whatever I want.
And one of the things I want is a Referral Program. So here it is! Refer someone for #bodywork and get half off your next appointment! After that person receives their 4th session, get a voucher for 60 minutes of bodywork! #tattoophiladelphia #tattooartist #tattoostudio #philly taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @jmichaelneal
