Hochul came through with the HOOKS! 💙🔥

The energy in the room at Latinos for Hochul-Adams was absolutely infectious!

It was an honor to attend alongside NAWBO NYC Chapter President Neena Dutta, representing the National Association of Women Business Owners NYC Chapter as Vice President of Advocacy, in support of Governor Kathy Hochul and her running mate, Adrienne Adams.

But this evening was especially meaningful to me because my journey into politics began with someone telling me NO.

In 2019, I worked alongside the New York City Council to advocate for Intro 1293, legislation that expanded opportunities for Native American and Asian American business owners within New York City’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program.

And here’s where things come full circle.

Adrienne Adams was one of the co-sponsors of that very legislation!

Years ago, we were fighting to ensure that communities too often overlooked had access to opportunities. Today, seeing Adrienne Adams on the roster as a candidate for Lieutenant Governor reminds me how the work we do at the local level can help shape the future of leadership.

As a Native American, Mexican American mother and business owner, I know firsthand that representation is about more than being seen. It’s about changing policies, opening doors, and making sure the next generation doesn’t have to fight the same battles.

And what started it all? Someone telling me NO.

But here’s the thing…

You can’t tell a Texas girl NO and expect her to walk away!

Especially one with big Texas dreams, a little New York grit, and a whole lot of faith!

Sometimes that NO is exactly what you need to hear to get 'er DONE.

The room was on FIRE, the energy was infectious, and I was reminded why I continue to show up.

Because when women, communities, and leaders come together, powerful things happen.

We are not powerless. WE ARE POWERFUL!

From the moment we walked through the doors, we were surrounded by immersive environments that challenged our perspective and reminded us how powerful creative spaces can be.

Every room offered something new...from surreal landscapes and interactive installations to unique artifacts that felt like they belonged somewhere between reality and imagination. Each detail was carefully crafted to create an experience that wasn’t just observed, but felt.

As a studio, we’re always inspired by the ways artists use light, sound, space, and design to tell stories. Hopscotch was a reminder that creativity doesn’t have boundaries...it can exist anywhere, take any form, and invite anyone to become part of the experience.

We were honored to tour Towne Twin Village and learn more about its mission to provide stable, affordable housing for adults 55+ as they rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.
