50 years. Crazy to think I once thought this was real old. Granted, some days I feel 30 and other days 75. 🤷🏻

As I reflect on the last 12 months, there have been a lot of ups and downs.

The Downs: The health of some deteriorated or smacked them right in the mouth, loved ones were lost, and that has proved difficult for so many close to me. I also sometimes think our country will never pull its head out of its collective ass. Professionally, I feel overworked and undervalued.

Plenty of Ups: The kid has been a full on Gen Z teen, but she knows she is and always will be my #1 girl. My friendships, which were already rock solid, have become Superman level unbreakable. And new people have come into my life that I know will be here for so many years to come. Also (cue groaning from some), I found religion (thanks to the kid). It has given me a foundation and a sense of community that I never had but I’m so happy for it now.

All in all, it’s been a good ride, and here’s to not knocking the hustle. #50 #thisis50 #onemoretriparoundthesun

I can’t say it enough. Bill Hannon was one of the greatest humans this planet has ever known. And I pay homage to the man by dancing as I do and as he did to one of his favorite party songs. “You can steal some of my moves…”

Funny how MAGA says I don’t love my country but their thin skin quickly forgets their giant signs and banners that said FJB all over their trucks, yards, and houses.

I do love my country. I don’t love the administration. I don’t think attempting to eliminate birthright citizenship, erasing black history, gutting healthcare/SNAP/educational funding/cancer research is okay. All while spending billions on wars that have been started by this administration or ones that would be over on “Day One”. Must be nice to line your pockets, hire unqualified sycophants, make up financial numbers, and blame previous administrations for your own mishaps. The Oval Office isn’t and shouldn’t be used this way. I said what I said.
