This time a year ago, I got really sick. To this day the doctors couldn’t give me a diagnosis, but one out of the 15 symptoms was reactive arthritis in my knees.

My knees tripled in size. I could barely stand. Laying down was excruciating too. It was the most physical pain I had been in my life and it took me to some dark places.

For 3 weeks, I couldn’t go anywhere, so I went within. I was told I’d be out of commission for nearly a year. I told myself that if I get out of this, I’d make real changes. I’d take better care of my health and be grateful for it every day.

In the wise words of Snoop Dogg himself,

“I want to thank me for believing in me, I want to thank me for doing all this hard work… I wanna thank me for being me at all times, Snoop Dogg [Joelle] you a bad motherf**ker.”

I’d also like to thank my mom @penang00003, my partner @frankiehebres, my personal trainer @rebeccastewart.co, and God. ❤️ by @jo.ill

So we did a thing! 🤪 (I’ve always wanted to say that in a caption. I am a millennial through and through 🤷🏻‍♀️ sue me lol) I always wondered when it’d be our turn/timing. The house hunting/buying process was arduous, but it happened when it was supposed to happen. Shoutout to @megan_ourin_realtor for being the best!! We also could not have done it without our family. Can’t wait to make beautiful memories here and have a backyard for our dog and wild toddler to run around safely. God is good. 🙏 by @jo.ill

APEX UNIT!
Our dancers hit the Cypher Rotunda stage at @mallofamerica and SHOWED OUT. 🔥

Proud of the work, growth, and energy this team continues to bring every time they perform. Having our highest-level youth team represent Cypher Side at one of our biggest events of the year made this one extra special.

Huge shoutout to Head Coach Joelle and Assistant Coaches Lue Finisher + Roberto for continuing to push and develop this next generation of dancers.

@yelpmsp spring refresh event recap 🫶 shoutout Mikhala and team for inviting and organizing, shoutout @ninelivesmn @greatrivergallerymn @pigseyepots for sharing your inspiring spaces, shoutout @fly.little.bird for helping big time, shoutout @mncommunity for capturing the beautiful memories, shoutout to all the peeps who came out and gave uglyy cookies a try, and most importantly to my mom for babysitting so I could even be there 😆🤘

it was my first real event for uglyy cookies and a lot was learned. here’s the good, bad, and (of course), the uglyy.

good: new connections
bad: forgot an entire tray of choc chip cookies at home
uglyy: fun af and brought joy to people’s taste buds

the wheels are turning for how to improve with
more flavors, more cookies, and better processes

thank you for a great kickstart to an uglyy summer 🍪
