Since my competitive dance has ended, i figured i would share my senior solo! This solo is super special to me because i got to create it with my mom and work one on one with her in a creative environment for the first time, as well as its connection to my family and my heritage. Im so glad i got to share this with my mom who is the only reason i ever danced in the first place and is also my biggest supporter, teacher and judge all in one!

So please enjoy Artemis!!

I have thought for a long time about how this would go and as i say good bye to competitive dance there are some final things i need to say.
Of course, I need to thank my family. They have came and sat through 16 recitals whether or not I was in 1 dance or 10. I also need to thank my dad for getting up on stage with me and embarrassing himself at every recital for the past 10 years! My mom, because without her I have no clue where I would be. She taught me to dance. She taught my senior solo. There hasnt been a single performance she has missed. A single “dont mess up” that hasnt been given. While it may be biased, she is hands down my favorite teacher I have ever had. Thank you both for all you have done for me and for making sure I am the best dancer I can be.

While my dance journey is not over, my time with my teammates is. So i want to say that while we have had our ups and downs, I adore all of you and know that everyone will do so many great things! I cannot imagine dancing with another group of girls even if i tried. To my people, you know who you are, you make me a better person every single day and always encourage me to be my absolute best. Thank you for being the better parts of my soul and my dance experience because i couls not imagine where i would be without you.

I have to save my hardest goodbye for last because i know it never will truly be goodbye. To my littles, thank you so much for letting me apart of your life. I love watching all of you shine on stage and seeing how much you have grown. You have all shown me unconditional love and support and I could not be more grateful. You make me a better person, dancer, and teacher every single day. Know that I will never be too far and am always here when you need a pep talk or a hug. I will miss you especially.

On that note, with a huge thank you to my teachers and Mrs. Manda for giving me an environment where I can grow and thrive for so long. At the end of the day, I know I can always come home and be welcomed with a smile and for that I am eternally grateful.

i am so sad to have competed a duo together for the last time, I couldnt have imagined sharing the stage with anyone else. madison, you have all my love and all my gratitude, you are the best duo partner i could have ever asked for and i so greatly appreciate you. i know youre gonna do amazing in all you do and im so glad to have gotten these moments of just the two of us. i have loved growing with you and learning, and truly wouldnt be the dancer i am if it wasnt for you. i love you forever and always💕 by @jo.slyn4939
