Sono qui a raccontarti di quanto immensamente crescerai, di quanto le nostre vite si intrecceranno.
Tu, nelle fornaci dell tua pizzeria, ed io, ad aggiustare i rubinetti delle persone …percorreremo le vie dell’Arno, dell’Adige, dell’Oceano Atlantico, tornando a parlare sempre delle solite cose.
Di arte, di musica , di amore e di sofferenza. Che poi, dal mio punto di vista , sono tutti sinonimi della stessa cosa: di una vita vissuta autenticamente.

Ma io ti voglio ringraziare oggi, perché con le tue pizz…ehm tele, mi hai fatto conoscere un mondo nuovo. Un mondo fatto di colori, di spezie, di contrattazioni, di canti infiniti, che fanno parte della tua terra e così anche di te.

Oggi sono otto anni da quella panchina fuori dalla facoltà di Lettere a Trento, quando ti promisi la tua canzone. E forse sono arrivata un po’ tardi, ma probabilmente dedicartela in Marocco per il tuo matrimonio è stata l’occasione che all’epoca non avremmo mai potuto immaginare.

Grazie per avermi dedicato la tua amicizia, per avermi permesso di piangere, amare, litigare e cantare specchiandomi nella tua anima.

Il mio cuore batterà sempre per te.

Sometimes I stop for a few seconds of the day, to think about what happened a year ago in the exact hour I am living. Last night I realized that at this time I was taking my first steps in York, unaware of everything that would happen next.

I had come here to attend a forum on music research at the University, listening to various presentations and taking more and more notes on everything I was absorbing.

A year later, in the same autumn colors and in the same classrooms, here I am, ranting about what I dedicated the last months of this crazy adventure to.

Such a short time has passed and I feel like I have experienced so many emotions in an instant; but more importantly...I remember how imposing and alien York seemed to me in 2022...and I stop now, thinking that it is home of so many memories, experiences, it is the little oasis where I can calm myself in the reflections of the Ouse or in the contemplation of the squirrels running on the trunks.

I am in an alternation of gratitude and adrenaline... and the year isn't over yet. But I can say that, at this space-time point in my life, I am happy with all of this.
