Zip Ahoy !

Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside ! Seaside exhibition at Southend Museum, lots of old fashioned fun ! Then to can toddle off Rossi's and get what everyone goes to Southend for ! It's a good 25 minutes walk though.

Terrific outing this afternoon to The Art Workers' Guild Table Top Museum displays.

Here are Cliff Pearcey's collection of Tin Plate Treasures. These's a cornucopia of toy whistles, horns, kazoo, and flutes dating back from the 1920s to the 1980s. "Simpler sounds from simpler times".

I particularly like all the cowboy imagery. So comic book, I love it ! Might be an inspiration for the Autumn term at the Shadwell Print Studio !

Not a clicker in sight.

Where else would you see a rainbow of delights ?

Here are Simon Last's collection of cigar bands. Simon told me that he had found them at a car boot sale and was fanscinated by these miniature works of art.

Did you go to "Meet Me By The Fountain" Friday or Saturday ? Great light show and commentary documenting the history of Romford and it's market. Terrific evening, I hope this will inspire more use of the market square when there's not a market there.
And I didn't even get wet.

I'd been wondering what to do with just of over a metre of this fabric for ages. I was given it by an old friend. Instead of making a slim line dress my usual go yo with a small amount of fabric, I thought it would make a great jacket. I spent hours fiddling about with the pattern trying to figure out how it would fit in, it just didn't fit. Then it came to me, make it a bit smaller and reduced the seam allowance to 1cm and make all the facings etc in another cloth. It all fitted in !

I think my friend would have loved this. by @joanhebbard
