Off-the-Grid Weekend at @beavercreekmaine

We spent the weekend in the sweetest A-frame cabin tucked away in Chesterville, Maine—and it was everything we needed. No schedules, no rush, no distractions. Just slow mornings cuddling with the kids, games until they were ready to head outside, and a peaceful lunch in nearby Farmington.

Back at the cabin, the kids helped prep the fire for the hot tub and roasted marshmallows while we soaked in the quiet. Our host Mitch’s brother-in-law, Peter, stopped by and offered the kids a ride on his Gator—they were thrilled. After that, they went full vacation-mode: splashing in puddles, covered in mud, and totally living it up.

We had the loveliest chat with Peter while the kids ran wild. Then it was warm showers, a little hot tub time for Jeff and me (taking turns, of course), and a cozy night in.

Jasper was heartbroken when we got home Sunday—he didn’t want to leave. Honestly, neither did we. Such a special weekend of being present, slowing down, and making memories.

Weekend fall foliage trip day 2

We took the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and did a short loop hike at the top of the mountain, where the views were absolutely stunning. Then we headed south to Plymouth for lunch, as Lincoln was too crowded.

We made a quick stop at a playground in Plymouth, where the falling leaves were beautiful.

After lunch, we headed straight home. Although we didn’t visit many places, it was lovely to be in nature with the kids and enjoy a relaxed pace.
