Truth be told...turning pro in bodybuilding was never something I truly desired. I started competing to overcome my fear, to heal, to love myself more, to learn how to take care of my body and more importantly, my mind. I’m always a work in progress but I have been known to be really hard on myself which yes, gives me drive, but this was different... I was not accepting of who I was at any given time, looking for outside validation, afraid of being judged and always striving for perfection, which does not exist. #vulnerable #growingpains I love this quote from @janefonda ❤️
Trying to be perfect is a toxic journey...
We are not perfect. We have to love our shadow. We have to love and embrace our shadows and sometimes good enough is good enough. - Jane Fonda ❤️
.
Good enough for me was a sword which is what I really wanted, not a tiara like the other girls, a sword... I won three and gained much more on the inside so I’m quite satisfied with that. Game of Thrones anyone? ⚔️🗡😄
.
That said, I won’t be competing this year. I learned SO much from it, still learning and since I do everything naturally it took a really long time for my hormones to balance out after my last show in August 🤪 I don’t want to bring my body fat down that low ever again. I also feel it’s time to challenge myself in other ways.
Sooooo... THE GOAL is always to love myself more and to maintain my body at a place I’m comfortable with. I will always workout hard whether I’m competing or not, I love it, it’s in my blood and now it’s my lifestyle. Winning!!! 😍So if you need a little motivation or inspiration, stay with me here, I got you and I will continue to post all about it. 💪🏻💪🏻Last but not least THANK YOU for all your support throughout! ❤️❤️❤️ #fitness #fitnessmotivation #bodybuilding #fitgirl #npcbikini #bikinigirl #bikinibody #alwaysgrateful #musclecontest #fbf #npc #flexfriday #got #notperfect #girlswithmuscle #chickswholift #strongissexy #insideout #grateful #beyourself by @joannsocrates

I felt so honored to marry my nephew and his beautiful wife this weekend. We laughed, we cried and we did a little Greek dance in honor of my sister. I got ordained so if anyone wants to get married, I can help you out. 😂 Congratulations and God bless the newlyweds! #wedding #weddingday #farmonmain #newjersey taken in The Farm On Main by @joannsocrates
