Finishing the book is not the end of an author’s journey. It’s actually when the real publishing work begins.

Many first-time authors don’t realize that their book can be finished and still not be ready to sell. Because they didn’t think about:

✔️Who’s the book actually for?
✔️What problem, desire, or identity does it speak to?
✔️How will someone recognize that it’s for them in 3 seconds?
✔️Does the title communicate the promise?
✔️Does the cover communicate the genre and positioning?
✔️Is the author’s website reinforcing the same message?
✔️And most importantly: why should a stranger care?

That’s why publishing isn’t simply editing a manuscript, designing a cover, and putting it on Amazon.

The manuscript is the product.The positioning is what makes the product understandable.The marketing is what makes people notice it.

The strongest author brands are built when those 3 things work together. If your publisher isn’t educating you about the journey before you publish, you may have the wrong one 🤔

It’s October, new season…..

Everything does not deserve to go with you in your next season. Not every idea, opportunity, person or even version of yourself is meant to be permanent.

It’s easy to think that perseverance mean holding on. Sometimes wisdom is knowing what to release. Some of the greatest growth comes when we stop asking, “How do I make this thing that’s not working, work?” And start asking, “Does this still belong where I’m going?”

That lesson can change how we lead, build and live.

I had the pleasure of keynoting for a room full of CEOs, executives, and corporate decision-makers this morning. I’ve always known it, but this morning solidified it: people with money and peace don’t want to be seen as much as those without. This was the first event I’ve spoken at where cameras and phones were not allowed, and it was one of the best talks I’ve ever given.

Being forced to be fully present made me realize I gained more from the room than I ever could have from capturing it for a reel. And it made me wonder how much we miss in our own lives trying to capture proof that we’re living them.

It’s my prayer that more women would stop using other people’s highlight reels as the measuring stick for their own lives. Admiring is great, measuring revenue is understandable but can you measure peace?

I’ll just say this, my reminder to the room was “knowing how to be successful without being consumed by success. Above all else, guarding your heart.” Proverbs 4:23.

Silence is often the enemy of power. #throwback2021

Your calling and your comfort zone won’t align. Sometimes it will ask you to move before you feel ready, but ‘ready’ is a state of mind. You must be willing to trust yourself through uncertainty, and keep going without all the answers.

My experience with helping women become restored has taught me that the stories that move people aren’t built on perfection, they’re built on truth. 
Take my advice: When you understand purpose fear loses its power. So don’t be afraid to tell your story, it may be the very thing someone else needs to heal. And the very thing that open doors to your NEXT!!!

I had one of the wildest periods in business recently. We lost an integral piece of equipment that we use for production, and then woke up one morning to find both of our websites missing because the designer we used years ago is out of business, and we have no idea where to locate them.

Thank God we own our domains. But despite losing thousands of emails, access to our leads, running around trying to figure out who our previous hosting providers were, and pulling together funding to rebuild, business continued.

Sidebar: Difficulties always show you who is really with you.

So, I was on my way back from one of the “business continues’ trip and had an experience with these two different pieces of luggage 🧳. My carry-on was about 30 lbs. and my hand luggage was about 15, yet the hand luggage felt heavier. Both uber drivers commented on that.

Sure enough, as I tried to explain away, the Holy Spirit downloaded a whole message. He said, “Weight is experienced differently based on the design of the carrier and HOW it’s carried.” That’s been sitting on me since. I have a few upcoming speaking engagements, and I’m locked in.

What do you do when the voice of REALITY challenges the voice of God?

When what God promised seems opposite to what you see?

When you prayed for someone with the same struggle, watched God come through for them, yet yours is yet to be unresolved? You obey anyway.

Jochebed had no guarantee that Moses would live. She only knew what God had placed in her hands and she refused to surrender him to the reality around her.

Faith is not pretending reality isn’t real. Faith is refusing to let what is seen have the final word over what God has said. So what do you do?

You keep obeying. You keep trusting. You keep going, Hebrews 11:23. I know it’s hard to be obedient when the evidence around you seems to contradict the promise or character of God but you got to keep the sis!
