🥉Nogi Pan Ams Adult Black Belt Lightweight

My third year fighting Pans in the black belt division and third time getting bronze. Had a really good performance this weekend, im proud of my work the lead me here and I love the process and nobody can stop someone who never gives up.

Nogi Worlds its coming soon and im excited to put on a show as always, you won't ever watch a boring match from me.

🥈 Second Place – Brazilian National No-Gi Adult Lightweight

Grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to do what I love most, especially being able to compete in my hometown after six years away.

I had four matches throughout the weekend, felt great, and can really see the improvements in my game. I lost the finals because of a mistake I made, but I’m getting closer and closer to my goals, and I’ll keep working until I get there.

I’m incredibly thankful to my wife @deiseleonanjo for being my biggest supporter and for doing everything she can to help make my dreams come true.

Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, and sponsors for believing in me and supporting my journey. A special thank you to @brunoformigabjj for being in my corner it meant a lot.

Happy to announce that I’ll be representing @vegaskingsofficial for the @pgfworld 2027 PGF Season 10! 🔥

One of the hardest and most meaningful moments of my career happened this past weekend.

After winning my quarterfinal, I had to face one of the best friends Jiu-Jitsu has given me: Gui.

We met in 2018. Back then, I was just starting my competition journey, while Gui was already a phenomenon, winning everything. Since then, we’ve shared so much: closing out tournaments as blue belts, living together, and going through different seasons of life. He even changed weight classes many times so we wouldn’t have to fight each other.

But this time, we both needed that Pan American title. Neither of us wanted to fight, but we understood it was the only fair way. So we stepped on the mat and gave everyone a true war.

He won, and once again, I fell short in the Pan American semifinals for the third year in a row. Of course, I was disappointed, but seeing my brother advance to the final and chase his dream made me genuinely happy.

God keeps reminding me that His timing is not mine. He has taught me something beyond Jiu-Jitsu: to love the process and genuinely celebrate the victories of the people I love, even when I’m still waiting for my own moment.

I may not be where I want to be yet, but I trust God’s plan and timing.

I love you, brother! Proud of our story and everything we’ve been through together. ❤️

Now drop to featherweight for Worlds, because I wanna see both of us winning on each division 🤣❤️

On Sunday night, after the tournament, we got an Uber and ended up having the sweetest conversation with our driver. He asked how long we had been married, and we told him we’ve been together for almost five years. He was surprised and said that, by the way we talked to each other and about each other, it seemed like we were still at the beginning of our relationship, that stage when everything feels exciting and full of love.

He told us that, with time and the wear and tear of life, many couples slowly lose that feeling. But he said he could see how much we still love each other and how much we’ve kept that love alive.Then he told us he’s been married for 39 years and that he also works in wedding ceremonies. Hearing those words from someone who has lived so many years of marriage meant more to me than he probably realized. There’s something so precious about hearing from a stranger what your love looks like from the outside.

We’re not a perfect. We have days when we drive each other crazy, we argue, we get frustrated , but at the end of the day, it’s still you and me, and it always will be, forever. ❤️ taken in Dallas, Texas by @joaomabjj
