"Don’t look for gods in men; you’ll always be disappointed."

I saw the Odyssey the other day with my girlfriend and I thought it was fantastic. All the premature controversy from CERTAIN people that wanted it to be more 'historically accurate' was entirely manufactured. In any retelling of a work this old it's damn near essential to incorporate anachronistic elements because we don't really know what's accurate to that time period and what isn't. Hell, whether Homer even existed is up for debate.

Either way, the cast and performances were great, the effects and sound design and costuming were amazing, the contemporary elements were incorporated in an interesting way drawing on the modern day equivalents to elements of ancient Greek culture, I thought the messages about taking accountability in a time where corruption is rampant and not allowing yourself to harm others to get what you want were pretty well handled, and I loved how the gods were made out to be almost lovecraftian in what was shown and not shown. by @job_bricks

I was gonna give this guy a flamethrower, but I decided that was too violent for the #littleguyjuly challenge being run by @ivybrickss. He's just a cyborg turkey guy trying his mechanized hand at cooking. Having worked in a kitchen before, this is about how it usually goes. by @job_bricks

@lego_zemo_customs_2006 and I have put together some stories about some ‘what if?’ style versions of marvel heroes. The figures are mine and zemo handled the fantastic backstories. Enjoy!

In one universe, Thor Odinson, God of Thunder, never learned the importance of humility. As heir to the throne of Asgard, his arrogance and hunger for glory only grew with each victory. Seeking greater power, he uncovered the All-Black Necrosword, an ancient weapon capable of slaying even the most powerful of Gods. Its darkness fed his ambition, convincing him that Odin’s rule had made Asgard and the nine realms weak. Refusing to accept his father’s wisdom, he struck him down, claiming the crown for himself. From that day forward, King Thor ruled through fear and conquest, crushing all who dared to oppose him. The nine realms became the foundations of a growing empire, and to countless worlds, Thor was no longer a hero, nor was he a protector. He was a god-king whose wrath was absolute. by @job_bricks

"Out of my way, Wall-crawlers! My quarrel isn’t with you!"

I finally made big wheel! The last two slides are the different iterations the design went through and the design for the arms. The final build ended up being different to that in a couple of ways, but it was a lot of fun and I'm happy with how it came out, it fits right into the bugle display. by @job_bricks

"Holy smokes Batman!"

Quick post to show off a version of the dynamic duo that I think work pretty well together. To me they've got Adam West/Burt Ward vibes. I'm gonna build out the batfamily in a later post I think. by @job_bricks

"Do you have any idea how long it took me to get all the evil exes’ contact information so I could form this stupid league?"

I finally got around to making the league of evil exes from Scott pilgrim vs the World! Still working on Ramona though.

L-R: Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Todd Ingram, Gideon Graves, Roxy Richter, and the Katayanagi twins with Scott himself in the back. by @job_bricks

"Here below, when the demons come in close, you’re better off just relying on the staunch will of a good woman."

Obligatory Supergirl post! I'll be honest I wasn't going to do one, but I decided after seeing the movie yesterday it'd be fun to scrape together some (albeit pretty unoriginal) figures. by @job_bricks

April 1898

It was a quiet evening when a mysterious train arrived in Gotham city. Out of this train poured havoc. They called themselves the Circus of Strange. Within an hour of them arriving, a sense of terror arrived over the city as citizens began to laugh without reason... or end.

The ominous manner in which the Circus arrived, the unnatural abilities its members appeared to have, and of course the unexplained laughter were cause for alarm. Once again, the Batman leapt into action to investigate.

There were five main attractions, the first of which was Edward Nigma, the Riddler. He claimed to see the future and reveal it in puzzles. Thus far, that claim seemed to be true.

Next was Arnold Wesker, the Ventriloquist. His puppet Scarface was carved from the oak of a hanging tree, and was animated so masterfully by Wesker that it was unclear where, or if, there was a distinction between the two.

Third was Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin. He came from a wealthy family, but having been born with several physical deformities he was abandoned. Now, people come from far and wide to jeer him.

Then there was Harleen Quinzel, the Harlequin. She was an acrobat and trapeze artist, most at home when flying through the sky. However, there was an insanity to her performances, often placing members of the audience in extreme danger.

Finally was the ringmaster of the group, known only as the Joker. His real name, where he came from, and his goals were all a mystery. It’s as if the Joker simply came into existence one day and began recruiting for his Circus.

Several were hospitalized due to asphyxiation within the first hour. If the laughter continues, there’s no telling what might happen by sunrise. It’s up to Batman to get to the bottom of it and face the Joker, who seeks to recruit the bat as the Circus’ newest act. by @job_bricks

Here’s my entry for the #WANDGRUNGE tournament being held by @a_dracocyanic

Deep within the molten centre of the Greyslate mountains there laboured the Evercast, a clan of hardened blacksmiths at the heart of the kingdom of Sídemeld. Their faces were caked with ash and soot, the air they breathed was thick with smoke, and their skin was said to be impenetrable, toughened with burns and callouses.

They were as much warriors as they were craftsmen, constantly protecting their vast hoards of armour and weapons, their sprawling mines ripe with valuable ore, and most importantly, the potential of the forge itself. The Evercast knew that they who controlled the forge could hold the Kingdom ransom, and even rule it.

Towering among the Evercast army was Ferryn Blackhearth, the infamous Brazen Bull. It was said that he could forge a perfect blade with his bare hands, such was his strength and fortitude. However, one fateful battle in the dim glow of a Winter’s sunrise would see the fall of the Evercast, and the dishonour of its mightiest warrior. In the face of an insurmountable foe, Blackhearth did the one thing he swore he never would... he fled.

He left the kingdom in shame, vowing to never again smith, fight, or show his face, but the star-forged wand has offered him a chance at redemption. Now, the Brazen Bull has once again donned his legendary armour, and set out with one thing in mind, to use the wand to wish for a trove of cursed iron so he may craft a weapon powerful enough to reclaim his people's forge and stand as the warrior king of Sídemeld. by @job_bricks

“Gotham is a city for predators. but even the biggest, meanest cats need to hunt in a pack sometimes.”

A quick Gotham City Sirens post with the main 3 along with Vixen. Not sure if she was ever part of the team but the hairpiece from the new Spider-Man set works so well I thought I'd throw her in. Like and follow! by @job_bricks

A new addition to @hyper_infinite_brix, the Chain Gang!

Thanks to @haon.brx, @2p_figs, and @tikebricks for allowing me to add to the stories of their characters!

Backstory:

8 months ago, S.P.A.C.E. secured the Neuron prototype developed by the Cerebrum Corporation as part of its investigation into the shady dealings of Billionaire CEO Daryl Baker, who now sits behind bars. They put millions into developing it into Skysplitter, an android that could subdue heroes should they ever go rogue.

3 days after Skysplitter was completed, S.P.A.C.E. fell victim to a cyberattack by the Augascencion, a terrorist group obsessed with Cybernetic augmentation. The Augascencion gained control of Skysplitter, it destroyed the lab it was contained in and flew into the night.

S.P.A.C.E. knew that heroes couldn’t know about this. The organisation had developed a weapon powerful enough to kill them, and worse, had allowed it to fall into the wrong hands. Instead, they tried a radical new approach.

There were 2,819 prisoners on record across the many S.P.A.C.E. prisons. 8 of these individuals were selected to locate Skysplitter and retrieve it from the clutches of the Augascencion. Their skills were specifically catered to the mission and more importantly, they were expendable.

The team consisted of Malform, the Peel, Exterminator, Black Barrel, Spore, Haunter, Interface, and the leader of the team, Ultraviolet. Under the command of S.P.A.C.E., they formed the first ever iteration of what was officially called the enhanced inmates troop, but nicknamed by the organisation’s agents the ‘Chain Gang’. by @job_bricks
