We're kicking off our feature film announcements with #VANLIFE, a psychological horror thriller from Saskatoon, Canada, directed by Trevor Cameron.

Following the death of his brother, Carlsen finds himself drawn deeper into the vanlife community. When his relationship falls apart, he hits the road with a mysterious woman, only to uncover a dark trail of murders and a death cult lurking along the lonely highways.

Starring Justin Derickson @thatwhitenative as Carlsen, Dakota Ray Hebert @dakota_raymond as Vanessa, and Michelle Thrus as Deidra, alongside @peniketttahmoh and @joeldmontgrand.

We're excited to have director @bluebuffaloblue attending Mountains of Madness, where he'll be joining us for a Q&A following the screening!

Playing alongside #VANLIFE is the Nevada short film STRANDEAD, about a man stranded on the side of the road with an empty gas tank, a body in his trunk, and a rapidly deteriorating grip on sanity.

Jobe Rippey @joberippey is an aspiring American filmmaker living in Reno, Nevada. Born on March 4th, 2008; Jobe started off editing videos for himself and for friends around the age of 11. His interest in video creation would lead to him joining "The Red House Project", a multimedia class at his high school: Reno High School. Through attending this class, he developed an interest in filmmaking, that was only catalyzed when he won the Gold Key award for his region in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. He is now known for directing short films such as "Automobile", "Strandead" and "How to Talk to Aliens", all of which have received local recognition and awards, including Best Experimental Short Film at Reno Film Festival X for his dystopian silent short film: "They Don't Speak".

"Strandead" is a new take on the killer subgenre, taking what we may initially see as a charismatic troublemaker and flipping it on its head. This film is an exploration into the many imperfections that come with indulging the darkest parts of one's mind. In this unique case, our main character can't help but say what he's thinking, trying to confront the why while in the midst of the what. I hope to make the audience feel certain emotions in ways we never thought possible, told through the embodiment of our intrusive thoughts.
