Hey, it’s me, The Mind Changer, and I’m here to change your mind. 🧠

What if I told you that smoking isn’t as dangerous as you think? What if I backed it up with statistics, scientific-sounding arguments, and a convincing delivery?

Would you believe me?

I tested these arguments with a group of friends, even though I had made them up. Five believed me. Two even started smoking.

That experience taught me something powerful: the ability to convince people is not the same as the ability to tell the truth.

Words can shape beliefs, influence decisions, and change behaviour. When delivered confidently, even misinformation can sound like facts.

This is why critical thinking matters. Don’t just listen to how convincing an argument sounds. Ask questions. Examine the evidence. Challenge assumptions. Verify the facts.

Because the real question is not just “Can you change someone’s mind?”

It is “What are you changing their mind to believe, and at what cost?”

As communicators, leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers, we must learn to use the power of words responsibly.

MORE THAN VOLUNTEERS: THE COLOUR PICNIC STORY 🎨

Behind every successful event are people who give their time, energy, and commitment. At Job Up, those people are our volunteers.

After Become Valuable 2026, we brought our team together for the Volunteer Hangout: Colour Picnic, a moment to appreciate one another, reconnect, and learn from our journey.

Beyond the fun, we roasted careers and businesses, challenged ideas, shared practical advice, and helped one another discover new ways to grow.

We also recognised that not everything went as planned during the conference. We are learning, improving, and committed to building a stronger team.

Now, we’re preparing for the next assignment: the Own Your Future Campus Tour, taking career development, employability, entrepreneurship, and practical opportunities directly to students.

To every volunteer who continues to believe in what we are building, thank you. 💛

POV: A CEO must understand every critical part of their company, even if they don’t handle every task.

You don’t have to do everything yourself.

But you should understand how your business operates, how money flows, how customers are served, how employees perform, and how each department contributes to the company’s growth.

Why?

Because when something goes wrong, you need to know where to look, what questions to ask, and how to make informed decisions.

A CEO who depends entirely on employees to explain how the business works is building a dangerous blind spot.

Delegate the tasks, not the understanding.

Build systems. Document processes. Track performance. Know your numbers.

Your company should be able to operate without your constant presence, but never at the expense of your understanding of how it works.

I met Muyiwa Ademola on Sunday at a Business Connect Community Hangout.

What stood out to me wasn’t just that he is a popular actor. It was how deeply he understood his craft.

Listening to him speak reminded me of something:

Your career is not just about the job you do. It is about the mastery you build.

Don’t just chase a title.
Don’t just chase money.
Don’t just collect certificates.

One week ago, we gathered.

But ECA Hangout 1.0 was never meant to be the finish line.

It was a signal.

Africa needs stronger systems for entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate and grow.

That is why we’re already thinking about ECA 2.0.

And this time, it won’t be just another hangout.

It will be a Meetup.

Ibadan will be our prototype.

The vision is bigger: a connected entrepreneurial ecosystem that can scale across Africa.

We’re working on the conversations, the structure, the collaborations and the systems that will make this possible.

More will be revealed when the time is right.

Tonight, I joined the Money Show with Mr. Bright Richard, Founder of Entrepreneur Connect Africa, for a practical conversation on creating a budget you can actually follow and how to track your money.

What made the conversation particularly valuable was that it went beyond the usual financial advice.

People asked real questions about how they manage their income, their spending patterns, and the financial decisions they have to make in everyday life.

One question that stood out to me was:

“What does it realistically cost to live as a family of four in Ibadan?”

That question opened up an important conversation about the fact that budgeting cannot be separated from context.

Your income, family size, location, responsibilities, lifestyle, debt, goals and unexpected expenses all affect what a sustainable budget looks like.

For me, one of the biggest lessons is simple:

A budget is not just a list of expenses. It is a decision-making system for your money.

You need to know:
• What is coming in
• Where your money is going
• What you can afford
• What you need to reduce
• What you need to save
• What you are building towards

And most importantly, you need to track what actually happens, not just what you planned.

This conversation connects deeply with the work we are building through JOB UP CAREER CONSULTING where our focus continues to expand beyond getting people jobs to helping people become more valuable, economically aware and capable of creating sustainable opportunities for themselves and others.

I am grateful to Mr. Bright Richard for the invitation and for creating spaces where young people can have practical conversations around money, business, career and growth.

There is a lot being built.

And increasingly, the conversations are becoming clearer.

2026 is not by mistake. Things are already being created about me, but now they are being formed.
