“Seen in the Sound” is my first public art project, commissioned by @mtaartsdesign.
—
This is a large-scale digital installation featuring 18 individual two-minute videos *exhibiting across 50+ screens throughout Fulton Center’s multiple building levels and underground pedestrian walkways in downtown Manhattan.

*The work runs for the first two minutes at the top of every hour, March-July 10 2024, which means you have 24 chances per day to catch it at each o’clock sharp.

May 2025 — No.3 was when a professional courier named Art came to pick up my first wholesale art order. I was befuddled by a text that read “Art is on the way”, like no no it’s literally still here sitting next to me.

June 27, 2026 saw the largest procession of sessions conducted in a single day (so far) for this project — THANK YOU to our hosts, Nikki and Spencer, and the twenty participants — this day marked the crossover from 40ish to 60+ foundational portraits for this ambitious project, and it was made possible by your generosity, trust, and quite frankly, your *follow-through* with some piecemeal instructions.

@jocelynrc is deeply grateful for the glimpses each of you allowed into your personal history 💛

June and August 2025 and also 2016, because this summer @alexopoulos (aka Alexo, aka Christine) sent me on a wild goose chase through my old hard drives looking for one particular photo with minimal clues to work with.

First image is a composite of the two I found on a 2016 hard drive. Final image is Alexo with the prints (today!) of original old photo she had in mind, and also a photo I took last week 💫

Jan 7, 2025 — landed at LAX around 10am, @amythompson3985 swooped me and we drove directly to Palisades Beach for lunch not knowing what was about to unfold.
