Not crying because it’s over, smiling because it happened 💛

The University of Florida has shaped & molded me in so many ways. Spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially… this softball program has changed me, challenged me, and taught me more than I could’ve ever known. I was broken & they helped make me whole. I am full of so much gratitude for the experiences & relationships I made on this adventure of a lifetime.

Thank you to the coaches for letting me be a small part of something so very special. Thank you to the support staff for making me a better human being & reminding me that life is meant to be fun. Thank you to Gators Experience for providing amazing opportunities & impacting my life in such a meaningful way. Lastly, thank you to all my teammates throughout the years for pushing me to learn, grow, and become better on & off the field. Going to battle with “Florida” across my chest will always be one of the highlights of my life 🌻

I can’t believe I got to wear a sunflower in my hair, rep the orange & blue, and play in one of the best college softball stadiums in the country. I remember telling my dad on my official visit, “The uniforms are really cool”. If I could go back and talk to that version of myself I would say “Yeah Joc, the people are even cooler!!!!”

I’d choose the Gators over and over again in any lifetime. The best decision I have ever made. Thank you Gator Nation for letting me spread joy & inspire the next generation of young athletes. Once a Gator, always a Gator 🐊

Sports - one of the best self-development tools out there.

It’s crazy how a game can teach you so much about yourself and about life. One of the main lessons… never give up & keep learning. Another lesson… learn how to work with others and make their experience on your team a good one.

“Your thoughts shape your reality, your habits shape your future, and your choices shape who you become”

1. Experiences in life are how we grow into who we are meant to be. You can plan for the future as much as you want, but some things in life make you wait & see, other things take you in a completely different direction. Maybe you need to learn something first before you go on your next adventure. Maybe you have more to give & more people to impact.

2. Change is good. You’re not supposed to be the same person forever and that’s the point. The more you learn the more you can help others through the very things that you experienced. They say good things must come to an end, not because your never going to experience another good thing, but because you gained what you were supposed learn from that time in your life and you’re ready to blossom into the next phase of life.

3. It’s okay to slow down. You don’t have to be doing something 24/7. Rest is essential to show up as your best self. If you never give yourself a break, enjoying those experiences that you didn’t want to miss out on won’t be as enjoyable. Burn out is real. Take time to breathe, touch some grass, connect with community. Your energy is precious, use it with love 🤍 by @joceyerickson

summer so far w/ the Banditas 🩵

met some pretty cool people, learned a lot about myself, laughed a lot, cried a little, explored new places, missed some old places. Change is scary but also pretty cool to look back on
