⚠️ What happens when #sexyplantjuice meets leaves that have already suffered through way too much pest treatment 💔 Albert Albo was my very first #monsteraalbo 💚🤍 Earlier this year, I was losing my mind due to thrips so I chopped him up in an attempt to get them under control. The two top cuttings survived 🌿🌱 successfully propped in water and now happily in soil (although still bearing scars 💀). But I think the rest of the plant knew it’s time was coming… After months of dormancy, Albert finally pushed out a new leaf, only for the spray to push him over the edge 😭 I’ve clearly made this batch too strong; thankfully none of the other babies have burned this badly! #monsteraproblems #plantmaintenance #fuckthrips by @jodesfenestrated

In an hour, these two will be going to their new owner 🥲 When I first started this hobby, one of the sellers I bought from said to me- “You really can’t put a price tag on a plant that you have spent so many weeks/months/years lovingly grown from a corm or a wee plantlet.” It’s hitting me hard now given the dramatic beginnings I had with both of these babies, and knowing how far they’ve come. I hope they will continue to thrive and bring lots of happiness to their new plant mom 🪴💕 #monsteradubia #monsteraburlemarxflame #babymonstera #monsteracollection #perthplantpeople by @jodesfenestrated

People are like plants; they grow to the environment they’re surrounded in. But—in the wise words of @thebeardedplantaholic—a plant will never apologise for turning towards the sun 🌻 ☀️ taken in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by @jodesfenestrated

I think I found my new favourite fruit 😍 “Fruit Salad” is the perfect name for #monstera 🪴 because this strange fruit looks like a custard apple in the shape of a corn cob 🌽 and according to general consensus on the internet, tastes like a combination of 🍌 + 🥭 + 🍍😲 I can’t quite put a finger on it- To me, it’s almost like a slightly bland but sweeter pineapple/banana-flavoured soursop, with the texture of a banana + custard apple (minus the annoying seeds), and gives a slight tingly feeling like pineapple apparently caused by the black flecks (concentrated calcium oxalate crystals). ⚠️ Note: I didn’t mind eating the black flecks, but did notice afterwards that my tongue and mouth had that micro-abrasion prickle that you sometimes get when eating too much pineapple… So I’m going to try rinsing them off when the rest of the fruit ripens to reduce the annoying scratchiness. 🥢 Asian homegirl here also found it easier to pluck out the pulp with chopsticks until just below the scales that haven’t fallen off, to prevent the soft flesh from smooshing on the paper bag when I put them back in. Can’t wait to eat the rest of it 🤤 #monsterafruit #monsteradeliciosa #tropicalfruit #tropicalhouseplants taken in Perth, Western Australia by @jodesfenestrated

Taken a few days ago- My first two babies 🪴🪴 Unfortunately I left Timothy Thai Con outside on the balcony with his side facing the sunlight while his new leaf was unfurling ☀️🍃 then forgot about him for a few days… So now we’re stuck with one leaf facing the wrong direction 😂 #monsteradeliciosa #monsterathaiconstellation #monsteralovers #monsteraleaf #monsteraproblems by @jodesfenestrated

Enrique Esqueleto - Purchased as a beautiful 2-leaf cutting 27.03.2026 from @theleafgalleryaus 🌱 This big boy took aaaaaaages to acclimatise and I actually thought he was a goner when both leaves started to show signs of deterioration… But all of a sudden he perked up 😲, produced a smaller leaf which had slightly reverted to juvenile state… And then immediately started rolling out massive new leaves 🍃👁️👄👁️ Enrique is really loving his moss pole from @the.leafy.brand! It’s good to know that if I decide to chop and prop, the roots are already established and ready to go… But I’m also tempted to let him continue to climb to see how much bigger his leaves can get 👀 Might have to put him in a bigger pot soon though. #monsteraesqueleto #monsteracollection #monsteraleaf #indoorplantsofinstagram #ilikebigleavesandicannotlie taken in Western Australia by @jodesfenestrated

[Tuesday 07.07.2026] 🪴 Ladies and gentlemen… after what feels like 84 years, we finally have a win. 💀 Will it survive being transplanted into aroid mix and continue growing? I don’t really care TBH, I’m just happy there’s now a valid reason to keep chopping up those never-ending runners because they bloody annoy me ✂️ #monsteraobliqua #monsteraobliquaperu #chopchop #stolongeneration #indoorplantsofinstagram taken in Perth, Western Australia by @jodesfenestrated

Updates: Monstera Monday (06.07.2016) 🪴 I’ve been putting off repotting for weeks due to work stress. A couple of plants were so root-bound they gave me quite a hard time today 😖 Also… I know it’s called a “White Monster” but are their leaves meant to be this white?? 🤨 Lana Laniata’s latest leaves have also turned completely pale. It’s like they’re in competition with one another 👀 The new leaf on the baby aurea though 💛💛💛 Also really happy that the top cutting from Albert Albo has finally rooted!! Today’s repots: 💁🏻‍♀️ • Aurea • White Monster • Devil 3 • Rescued Deliciousa x 2 • Thai Con • Yellow Thai Con #monstera by @jodesfenestrated

Plant bundle for two very dear friends 🪴💕 and possibly my favourite housewarming gift that I have ever put together 💁🏻‍♀️ 💝🍃 • Wrapping paper + #growlight by @urbangreenhouse.co from @minty.green.plants 💡 • Cute watering can + alternative water bottle cap sprinkler from @garden_affair_a_living_gift 💦 • A few other bits and bots of plant care essentials 🏥 • Best pot ever from @the.leafy.brand 🪴 Unfortunately the original albo cutting ended up with stem rot 💀 and I also accidentally plucked off its super fine baby root when I was trying to remove the sphagnum moss (it looked exactly the same 😭). It never recovered 💔 Learnt from my mistake (no more risky single node cuttings from dodgy FB Marketplace private sellers ☠️) and ended up getting a bigger, bushier albo that was so magnificently rooted that the noodles barely fit in the pot it came in 👁️👄👁️ ¡Viva Alejandro! 🥳 #monsteraalbo #monsteralovers #indoorplantsofinstagram #plantgifts taken in Perth, Western Australia by @jodesfenestrated

Catching up- Monstera Monday 15.06.26 💁🏻‍♀️ Bought some cute cups from @daisoaustraliaofficial and decided to put one of the baby devils in PON to see how it would adapt and grow compared to its sibling. Also transferred my non-monstera baby from moss to PON 😬🤞🏼 Repotted the two rescued deliciosa cuttings- Roots were starting to escape even though there was still plenty of space, so I simply tucked them all back into their pots. Wasabi Pea my #monsteragreensnow had definitely outgrown her baby pot thus graduated to a bigger one to stretch her roots 💚 Still a few more babies needing a repot but I was knackered so they’ll have to wait for the next #monsteramonday 🪴🪴🪴 Loving this pretty PON mix from @the.leafy.brand 🫶🏻 #monsteradeliciosa #philodendronmelanochrysum #monsteracollection taken in Perth, Western Australia by @jodesfenestrated
