The Maidens Tower Istanbul... I have actually had the pleasure of seeing this beautiful building when I was in Istanbul years ago 🙏🏻 but tonight I'm #sketchinginthedark whilst watching @theprotector on @netflix I just love a fantasy with history intwined 🙌 and who doesn't love to visit Istanbul even if it is on TV ✅🤗😜A little bit of Wikipedia history if you are interested 😁The most famous story of Kız Kulesi (The Maiden's Tower) in Istanbul is a tragic tale of destiny. An oracle foretold that a beloved princess would die from a snakebite on her 18th birthday. To protect her, her father built a stone tower in the middle of the Bosphorus strait. He safely isolated her there, far away from any land-dwelling snakes. On her 18th birthday, relieved that the prophecy had seemingly been thwarted, the king brought her a celebratory basket of exotic fruits. Unbeknownst to him, a venomous asp was hiding in the basket. Essaouira Morrocco.... What better way to spend a Winter's day, Revisit and sketch some of the wonderful image's captured whilst on tour with @tarias_sketchy_adventures.
