The "Pause" I Didn’t Know I Needed ☁️✨

I’ll be honest: this second pregnancy has been incredibly confronting. Lately, my nervous system hasn’t just been "busy"—it’s been completely overwhelmed.

Between the demands of daily life and the mental load we carry, I’ve found myself in a cycle of depletion. I’ve felt that heavy tug of guilt—feeling like I’m putting every other responsibility before myself and the tiny life I’m growing.

Since teaching yoga, life became more about the doing and the giving. I was holding space for everyone else, which, if I’m being real, mirrored every other part of my life as a friend, mother, daughter, wife, and employee etc. And I was forgetting to hold space for myself.

My initial teacher training taught me that we all wear these masks and labels. We perform these roles so well that we forget: we are not those labels. At our core, we are just a soul having a human experience.

As someone who naturally thrives in a "Yang" world—loving the heat, the fast pace, and spinning all the plates—pressing "pause" feels uncomfortable. It’s a physical and mental confrontation to just stop.

For my personal practice I’m choosing to lean into the Yin. 🧘‍♀️

Yin Yoga is teaching me to sit with the discomfort and the sensations without trying to "fix" or "do." It’s a practice of shedding the names and the roles to just be. It isn’t easy, and it isn't possible every second of the day, but it’s the reset my nervous system is screaming for.

I’m taking these steps to learn this practice—firstly for me, so I can find my own center again. Maybe down the road, I’ll be ready to hold that stillness for others, too. But for now? No labels. Just being. 🤍

✨ January ✨

Hello you.

Another year has passed and we find ourselves entering 2026.

Maybe this is the year you've promised to carve out a little time for you... or perhaps you want to find kindness and softness whilst we are still in the depths of Winter...

You could come and try a yoga class, I currently teach Mondays, 7pm at St. Philips Church, and you'd be more than welcome to join us on the mat for a warming and flowing Yoga sequence finding space and balance physically and mentally.

Whether you're new, you've been to my class before or a regular yogi, I would love to see you there.

I've been a bit quiet recently... But last night I had the privilege of being a guest speaker for Lucent Financial Plannings Clients Self-Care retreat. It was amazing to share what Yoga is all about and guiding them through chair yoga, breathwork and meditation 🧘 at @cpsolihull.

It was a great night learning all about how we can take better care of our health, because if we have that we are the richest we can be.

If a business you know or work for would be interested in what benefits Yoga can have please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yoga that doesn’t involve a mat.

Yoga is a practice for the whole self body, mind and spirit. The movement/postures (asana) only make up a small part of the practice and help for us to put into practice those things we can live and breathe in our everyday life. We use twisting movements, carefully structured sequences and breath-work in a yoga class to find balance, detoxification, strength and flexibility in our physical body. But how can we continue to apply this to life? That’s where the Yamas and Niyamas // Restraints and Observances come into play.

One of the Niyamas I find most beneficial as a busy working mom is Saucha (cleanliness) in the photo I’m holding my beloved tongue scraper- I practice this cleansing method twice a day after cleaning and flossing my teeth. For me it’s important to cleanse my mouth as I feel as though when my mouth has been cleansed I choose to fuel my body with healthier foods, also psychologically I have better mental clarity, also how can we speak or act with kindness (ahimsa) if we don’t take care of the area our words come from?

Science has also shown that through maintaining oral hygiene it decreases risk of disease and prioritises longevity for health and life.

So next time you think you may not be bendy enough to get on a yoga mat - remember that it is more than just the class or movement. Also I highly recommend trying out a tongue scraper if you don’t already! #yoga #ayurveda #selfcare #saucha #niyamas #yamas by @jodiewinteryoga

Tonight we flow from our busy lives to connection to ourselves. 🌊

Introducing Jodie @jodiewinteryoga
We’re so excited to be welcoming Jodie to teach a regular Yoga class every Saturday 9:30-10:30 from June 7th.

“I first discovered yoga as a teenager and was instantly hooked. Yoga quickly became a vital part of my life, helping me navigate challenges with mental health and self-esteem. I found myself asking: Why does yoga just work?

Driven by curiosity, I explored many styles of yoga and attended a wide range of classes. My passion for understanding the deeper impact of the practice led me to study a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology. I also travelled to India on a placement, gaining invaluable insight into global mental health treatments and exploring how ancient Eastern practices like yoga and meditation can harmoniously complement modern medicine to support emotional well-being.

Over the years, yoga has helped me move through the many phases of life—hormonal shifts, health challenges, relationships, pregnancy, birth, and loss. Through it all, my love for the practice has only deepened. For me, yoga is about connection—both within ourselves and with those around us—and sharing that is now at the heart of what I do.

In 2024, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Soul Sanctuary Studios and began teaching immediately. As a busy working mum, I understand the importance of flexibility in both life and practice. My classes emphasize individual empowerment and offer space to explore what your body and mind need each day.”

Come along and join her. Pay as you go or become an unlimited member.

Want to hear my self monologue when working on arm balances?

I’m just having a human experience too, but yoga has taught me acceptance of my differences which helps me to be more patient (very useful with a toddler) but also to know that sometimes things take time, showing up and small steps.

My classes are authentically me and I meet you where you are in your journey.
