Some photos of my installation in Milan last week from my latest project “Red Thread: From New York to Palermo”

I was given this tiny house at an old Italian abandoned slaughterhouse that had been reclaimed as an event space. My installation was part of the last event at the space before it will demolished at the end of this month.

I am usually working on 2D surfaces from prints I’ve made in the darkroom. I treated this room as a singularity entity, and was able to expound what I would usually do on prints into a 3 dimensional space.

The installation was able to be viewed for one day, and it stays intact (though locked away) until the site is demolished.

SATURDAY NY Art Book Fair Signing at Printed Matter - Booth B

Joseph Rovegno: 030426 / 0526
A Book Signing with Photographer Joseph Rovegno

September 26, 2026
3PM at MoMA PS1

Join us at the New York Art Book Fair for a signing of Joseph Rovengo’s artists' books, 030426 and 0526. Titled after the dates around which the work was made, the books function as visual records. Presented together, the two publications show an evolving photographic diary and Rovegno’s ongoing approach to bookmaking as an artistic practice.

Joseph Rovegno is a New York-based photographer, artist, and publisher. Working primarily with photography and artist books, his practice is rooted in observation & personal experience, with much of the work made by hand in the darkroom.

He is the co-founder of LOOK PUBLISHING, an independent publishing project established in 2020, through which he has produced numerous books and zines by himself and other artists.
